Prayer of Illumination Mary Crowson God, from the beginning, You were the Word. You sent Your only Son to save us all, and Jesus surrendered Himself in obedience to be crucified. As I study Your written Word, grant me the gift of understanding and of unshaken faith in You, and how to live accordingly by Your Spirit. Open the door of my heart and fill me with Your light and understanding. Amen.
