RENOVATION PROJECT FOR CAMP KINSER CONSERVATION DESIGN Strengths Trees are a natural wall that contain disaster risk reduction and help against pollution. Tourism by the turquoise sea. Golf camps already constructed that can be renovated for tourism purpose. Ryukyu Limestone: is good for planting trees and their good development. Ryukyu Limestone: Ryukyu limestone is composed of coral reef residue and other submarine sediments dating back to anywhere between about 100,000 to 1,300,000 years ago. Also, many of the walls in traditional Okinawan castles/Gusuku include limestone bricks. Heritage = Spring Water: Okinawa’s abundance of springwater is also thanks to limestone. In addition, Spring Water is drinkable water in religious places. The area where you clean yourself before entering a religious place/building.
CONCEPT

Following Okinawa MICE guide: 1. From the times of Ryukyu kingdom, Okinawa was connected with neighbourhood countries such as Japan and China. 2. "Bankoku Shinryo" meaning "Bridge between Nations". Therefore, the importance of bringing people together. 3. Connection with nature and continuous visual to turquoise sea

Weaknesses Since the area used to be a military camp, educational facilities such as schools and high schools are needed. Provide Clinics. Attract people to an area that used to be a military camp.
Relationship between block design and housing design
Threats Opportunities Heritage & education: Keep the cross like buildings but change the function for cultural or educational facility. They could be cultural centers or museums for the tourist nearby. Community green areas. Green areas reduce smog and air pollution, retain rainwater, and trap CO2. Connect our area to the outside: holy places & caves. Commercial area & private development: keep Parco City and make a connection for the citizens. Studio Ghibli store is located there. Subtropical zone/climate. The new developing area is located in between MICE Urban area and convention area. Business growth and innovation by providing new touristic facilities. Located near Naha Airport. It is easy to connect from Shuri Rail and then take bus or taxi. Revitalizing the local economy by promoting visitor to experience Okinawa culture.
The area is located by the sea and the topography has several levels from 5m to 30m. Therefore, some areas could be vulnerable to high tildes, tsunami and flooding. Facilities related to military that could be dangerous to other people.
Smart City + Tourism The Smart City proposal provides the opportunity for enterprises to invest in the area and create a synergy with Okinawa development in the field of IT and logistics. An innovative infrastructure system that follows sustainable construction methodologies and contribute with renewable and efficient energy systems In addition, when organizations and cities join the Smart City program, a social network of innovation and SDG is created. Green areas are good for public health, reduce disease spread and control natural hazards. Tourism resources attracts visitors Education and recycling measurements can be expanded By 2050, 70% of the population will be concentrated in cities. Therefore, our proposal is based on urban development by promoting tourism and enhancing heritage and natural resources.
