Associate Professor of Radiology, Urology, and Biomedical Engineering University of Michigan

Imaged-based Biomarkers of the Lower Urinary Tract Learners will understand how lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) develop and progress, recognize why conventional imaging has limited value in guiding clinical or surgical decisions for these patients, and explore how quantitative imaging techniques may enhance risk stratification, personalized diagnosis, and targeted treatment.

New Paradigms for the Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes Harless Auditorium Carmella Evans-Molina, MD, PhD, President, Class of ‘01

Eli Lilly Professor of Pediatric Diabetes, Indiana University School of Medicine Professor of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism Director, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases and leader for the diabetes research group in the Herman B. Wells Center for Pediatric Research Staff physician, Roudebush Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center

This session highlights new disease‑modifying therapies for type 1 diabetes, emerging precision‑medicine strategies to better time and target interventions, and the expanding use of β‑cell stress biomarkers to guide care.

Acute Aortic Dissection for the Primary Care Provider Harless Auditorium Matthew M. Snyder, MD, President, Class of ‘16 WVU Medicine, Assistant Professor Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery

Dr. Snyder will provide focused expertise in the diagnosis of acute aortic pathologies, the initial management of Acute Type A Aortic Dissection (TAAD), and an overview of current surgical strategies for TAAD.
