Beethoven’s famous short–short–short–long motif from Symphony No. 5 exemplifes propulsion, tension, and forward drive. In samba, particularly on the pandeiro, rhythm functions as architectural foundation, creating groove and momentum.

The circle-of-ffths harmonic progression, as seen in Vivaldi’s Winter, became highly infuential in the Baroque era, inspiring composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, who studied and transcribed Vivaldi’s works.

Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor, BWV 974 (Adagio) uses ii–V–I progressions to create smooth, expressive cadences. The famous Frank Sinatra version, was arranged by Quincy Jones, bridges jazz and popular song.

Cheek to Cheek

Irving Berlin

Composed in 1935 for the flm Top Hat, its elegant melody and joyful swing capture 1930s glamour, making it a favorite for both vocalists and instrumental jazz interpretations.

The Windmills of Your Mind

Michel Legrand

Composed for The Thomas Crown Afair (1968) with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, this hauntingly circular song features fowing melodies and intricate harmonies. Its endlessly revolving melodic line is reminiscent of the motivic development in Sinfonia Concertante in E-fat, K. 364/39 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, where a recurring motif spins through the orchestral texture, creating a similarly mesmerizing, continuous motion.

Ludwig Afonso has toured with Spyro Gyra, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Eldar Djangorov, Paquito De Rivera and Ricard Bona. He has also shares the stage with icons like Chris Potter, Arturo Sandoval, and Stanley Jordan and has been a 9-time Grammy nominee.

Diogo Brown is a Latin Grammy–nominated bassist, composer, and musical director from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Known for his versatility and sophistication, he has toured the world and worked with international stars such as Gloria Estefan, Laura Pausini, Brian McKnight, Jon Secada, Buika, and Julio Iglesias Jr., as well as Brazilian icons like Vanessa da Mata, Daniela Mercury, Alcione and more.

Beatriz Malnic is a Brazilian-American vocalist, vocal arranger, and classical pianist, Co-Founder and Musical Director of Brazilian Voices. A two-time Brazilian Press Award winner as Best Brazilian Singer in the U.S., she has performed and recorded with Toquinho, Chico Buarque, Roberto Menescal, and others. Her music is on major digital platforms.

Born in Como, Italy, Vittoria Verrone is a versatile vocalist with an international outlook. Blending jazz, gospel, soul, pop, and rock, she has collaborated with leading Italian artists, appeared on national TV, and performed at major jazz festivals. Her work with the Omnia Orchestra under Bruno Sartori highlights her ability to unite jazz vocals with classical orchestration.

ACT 3 CHAMPAGNE BY BILLECART-SALMON

Brooklyn-born saxophonist Billy Ross is a warm, lyrical storyteller infuenced by Stan Getz. Recommended by Curtis Fuller and Cecil Payne, he became the youngest member of the Woody Herman Band. A University of Miami jazz graduate, he has performed worldwide with legends including Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, Nancy Wilson, and Natalie Cole.

José R. Gallegos is a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer trained in Bogotá, New York, and at the Manhattan School of Music. He has worked with artists including Harry Belafonte, Celia Cruz, and Tito Puente, founded Gallco/Latin Media Enterprises, and received 38 awards. His work includes major venues and mentoring young musicians for top universities.

Vincent Catala

Vincent is a French private chef whose cuisine is driven by precision, emotion, and respect for the product. With more than 27 years of experience, including time spent in Michelin-starred kitchens, he brings classical French technique into a modern, refned, and deeply personal expression of gastronomy. Rooted in French terroir and shaped by international infuences, Vincent’s cooking is elegant, seasonal, and intentional. He believes that true luxury is found in balance—between discipline and generosity, structure and spontaneity. Each experience is designed to feel intimate, timeless, and sincere. Based in Miami, Vincent is the founder and culinary director of Evercook Miami, a high-end private chef service specializing in bespoke dining experiences for private residences, luxury events, and discerning clientele. From discreet dinners to exceptional celebrations, his approach remains constant: excellence, discretion, and care. A sensitive chef at heart, Vincent cooks with intuition as much as technique. His cuisine tells a story—one of emotion, memory, and human connection.

Loïc Ercolessi

The Parisian-born artist, has chosen Miami as his haven since 2011. His creations, whether on canvases, urban walls, or repurposed objects, unveil glimpses into his inner realm. Between 2012 and 2016, he not only illuminated galleries with visual narratives but also let his vibrant imprints fourish in the dynamic canvas of street art.

His signature style, a fusion of reimagined pop art utilizing various media such as acrylics, spray cans, and even cofee, gracefully dances between the realms of the visible and the unseen. This unique blend weaves profound thoughts into a daring graphic aesthetic. For Loïc, art transcends a mere destination; it’s an immersive journey where each piece becomes an enigma, a captivating dialogue between the artist and the pulsating rhythm of the world.

Sophie Wong

Is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the evolution of womanhood, blending grit and grace while honoring resilience as a form of sacred growth. Raised in Miami, her art refects the city’s multicultural landscape and the interconnectedness of her ancestral community. Through emotionally driven portraits and narrative scenes in earthy tones, Sophie examines inner strength and the emotional depth of personal and collective experiences.

A graduate of New World School of the Arts who later attended SUNY Purchase College, Sophie has developed a body of work centered on heritage, resilience, and transformation. Since 2010, she has been an active presence in the South Florida arts community as a professional artist, muralist, and educator, uplifting young people and women of color. Her murals across Miami-Dade and Broward counties highlight unity and cultural identity. Sophie received the Miami-Dade County Individual Artist Grant in 2024 and the Broward County Artist Support Grant in 2026.

Founded by Chef Vincent Catala—an accomplished pastry and kitchen chef with over 20 years of experience—and Ingrid, a computer engineer and passionate foodie, EverCook blends culinary mastery with heartfelt hospitality. Inspired by French–Italian traditions and crafted with the freshest market ingredients, each dish is designed to delight the eyes, stir emotions, and transport guests through favor. EverCook transforms everyday meals and special gatherings into elegant, unforgettable culinary experiences.

Masion Villevert

Experience the elegance of French craftsmanship with a guided dégustation of La Quintinye Vermouth Royal and Nouaison Gin. La Quintinye, crafted with a blend of fne wines, Pineau des Charentes, and a selection of botanicals, ofers a sophisticated journey through its Dry, Blanc, and Rouge expressions—each revealing unique layers of herbs, spices, and foral notes. Complementing this is Nouaison Gin, a grape-based spirit that elevates the classic gin profle with rich, velvety textures and a bold infusion of botanicals like juniper, bergamot, and sandalwood. Together, these artisanal creations celebrate the art of French distillation and refnement.

Billecart-Salmon

Billecart-Salmon is a medium-sized champagne house in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, France. Founded in 1818 with the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, it is one of the few to remain family-owned. The 7th generation, led by Mathieu Roland-Billecart, continues to prioritize quality in the production of their exceptional wines. The Champagne Charles Le Bel “1818” Brut selected for tonight’s event is their second label and produced from some of the base wines not included in their main cuvees, showcasing their commitment to excellence and sustainability. Their motto, “Give priority to quality, strive for excellence,” remains at the heart of their winemaking.

Musimelange is an immersive concert experience that awakens your senses, pairing chamber music with gastronomy and wine tastings, hosted in a relaxing and inviting ambiance. It continues the tradition of the salons from the Belle Epoque, where important public fgures, artists, writers and musicians were introduce to their friends in hopes of inspiring a fow of ideas and creativity for an enriched life.

At musimelange, we believe in crafting a beautiful life through beautiful experiences. We redefne the concert journey by seamlessly merging the art of chamber music with gastronomy and wine, creating a multi-sensory experience that engages all senses. Our intimate, stage-less concerts bring musicians and audiences in close proximity, fostering a deep connection where the audience becomes an integral part of the performance.

Having traversed the globe, Anne Chicheportiche, the French violinist and founder of musimelange, now shares her passion for extraordinary music-making and diverse cultural infuences by exceptionally talented artists. Her mission is to foster a welcoming environment that seamlessly integrates music, social networking, and gourmet experiences, facilitating connections between musicians and audiences beyond Symphony Halls. Upholding the highest standards of artistic excellence, she ensures that every showcased genre exceeds the expectations of even the most discerning music connoisseurs.
