Preface

“Messa Uno” is a mass for upper voices and organ, dedicated to the Nidarosdomens jentekor and conductor Anita Brevik.

The mass was performed in its entirety for the first time in Nidaros Cathedral in April 2024.

The choral arrangement is partly based on Gregorian-inspired motifs, is melodic, and has a moderate level of difficulty, while the organ part has a more modern character.

The Italian title was chosen because the musical motifs for the ancient Latin text emerged after a stay by the sea in Italy.
