Even when He is silent was originally written for both SATB and SSAA choir, and commissioned by The St. Olaf Festival (Olavsfestdagene) in Trondheim, Norway, in 2011. The lyrics for “Even when”, was written by an anonymous writer, and was found on a wall in a German concentration camp: I believe in the sun even when it’ s not shining. I believe in love even whem I feel it not. I believe in God even when He is silent. The orginal versions for choir are available from Norsk Musikforlag (Original Publisher) and Walton Music (Subpublisher for USA, and Canada) This arrangement is held in the same key as the original version, and can be performed together at your discretion.
