藝術家的話Artist's Note
很感謝誼樂社邀請我參與是次跨界合作，以大館的古蹟環境為創作靈感，並藉畫作裡的樹木與音樂家手中的木製樂 器相互呼應。打從一開始，我已構思以中國古典繪畫方式表達大館裡的樹木，同時讓景物重新建構。瀝代中國畫對 樹木的繪畫方法相當重視，由樹根、樹幹到樹葉都有不同的象徵意義，蘊含着對抗逆境和生存毅力的精神力量。近 年，大家對保護樹木的意識提高，大館的樹木都受到悉心的照願和保護，尤其根部的保養。今次繪畫時考慮到整體 的截感，強調了樹根的描繪，讓樹的整體感覺更完整，更突顯樹木的形態和生命力。
畫中的九棵大樹分別是檢閲廣場上的芒果樹及複羽葉欒樹，以及監獄操場上的紅雞蛋花樹、花旗杉樹及石栗樹。畫 作構圖時考慮樹木高低、前後景鋪排，營造出重、輕、輕的節奏感。
為了豐富是次視覺及音樂體驗，特別邀請了蘇杭街十號(Jervois X)攜手合作製作動畫。將《誼樂社種樂樂》畫 作轉以生動的方式，結合大館的氛圍以及音樂會，呈現觀眾眼前，希望大家喜歡。
I am very grateful for Musicus Society's invitation to this cross-over collaboration. Inspired by the environment of the heritage site of Tai Kwun, the trees in my painting echo with the musicians' instruments, which are also made of wood. From the very beginning, I had the idea of presenting Tai Kwun's trees in Chinese classical painting while reconstructing the scenery. Throughout history, Chinese paintings have given weight to the artistic methods of tree painting. The tree's roots, trunks and leaves all have different symbolic meanings, implying the spirit of endurance against hardship and perseverance in life. Recently, public awareness of tree preservation hasbeen raised, andthetrees in Tai Kwun are well looked after and protected, especially with good care for the roots. Considering the overall perception, I have emphasized the depiction of the roots, fulfilling a sense of completeness and highlighting the shape and vitality of trees.
There are 9 trees in the painting. They are the mango tree and golden ring trees on the Parade Ground, and the temple tree, hoop pine, and candlenut trees in the Prison Yard. The composition makes use of the varied heights of trees and arranges them in the foreground and background accordingly, building up a rhythm of "strong, weak, weak" pattern.
To enrich the visual and musical experiences, Musicus Society and I have specially invited Jervois X to collaborate on animation production. Integrating the ambiance of Tai Kwun and the concert. the animation vividly displays Musicus Society: Planting Music to the audience. I hope you all en」oy it.
