Program Note This piece was my very first commission from my alma mater in Ashland, Oregon for their annual winter fine arts festival. The piece is constructed in two sections, with each part containing the complete text. My intention was to capture two different moods or perspectives, one peaceful and the other troubled, perhaps one from the outside looking in, and the other exposing the tension that underlies the surface of this otherwise pastoral scene. -Fahad Siadat
