YOUR NEW ST. JOHN AMBULANCE· UNIFORM

Uniform Working Party

A St. John Ambulance Working Party was established by the Chief Commander and, following consultation with County representatives, it was decided changes to the uniform were needed These were approved by Policy Board and st. John Supplies has implemented the changes requested. The result is a high quality, smart, functional uniform.

Value for Money

The majority of members wanted a higher quality uniform cloth. The previous uniform cloth was chosen for economy st. John Supplies, with its vast purchasing power, has secured the very best prices for these high quality garments, and we're passing these on to you in value-for-money. All prices have been discussed and agreed by st. John Ambulance Policy Board. As a further example of st. John Supplies' commitment to keep our prices as low as possible, we have absorbed the design costs and will be subsidising major items by £100,000 a year. And just to make sure, we have compared our prices with similar uniformed voluntary organisations. We know that this new high quality uniform is being offered to you at terrific value. And when it comes to shirts, sweaters, etc, they now come complete with breast badge sewn on and integral embroidery, saving you time Yet the prices are very little more than the previous unbadged garments - even more superb value. You won't beat this new uniform for high quality and value-for-money.

The quality of our fabrics has been upgraded from our previous range. Jackets, skirts and trousers are now made from a Polyester/Wool cloth. This softer, breathable fabric makes the garments more comfortable to wear and means that you stay cool in the summer and keep warm in winter.

St. John Ambulance Identity

The new jackets, shirts and sweaters come with the breast badge already fitted to the right breast. Shirts and sweaters also have the words "St. John Ambulance" embroidered on the left breast. Cadet garments have the Cadet breast badge fitted to allow easy identification of cadets when on duty. Rank slides incorporate the words "St. John Ambulance", and can be worn by all adult and cadet members.

At the time of this catalogue going to press, the text for the revised edition of Dress Regulations was being prepared by NHQ. For the latest information, telephone Customer Services on 0171 278 7888.

Uniforms in Act ion

Garments have been designed to be comfortable and functional for wearing on duty. Jackets and shirts have action pleats in the back to allow free movement. Trousers are half lined to the knee, and both adult and cadet skirts are fully lined, with a slit in the lining. Adult hats and caps have a distinctive white reflective band for safety in poor light. A new baseball cap is optional wear for adults, cadets and badgers, and this also has the reflective hat band.

Sizes

We've extended our wide size ranges for jackets, trousers, shirts and skirts

We have also allowed a generous overlap in sizes between adults and cadets for shirts and sweaters. Our made to measure service is still available for jackets, trousers and skirts, if your size is not in our w ide range (see pages 49 & 50).

Wearing Your Uniform

This catalogue gives some guidelines on which garments should be worn together, and on what occasions (see pages 13 & 21). For full information, refer to the revised Dress Regulations (Product code Pl1350).
