CADETS OUTDOOR HAT
Th e Nursing Cadet Outdoor hat i s available, code number U08300 (see pag e 33) but for home dres smaking, patterns and materials are supp li ed and may be ordered in the normal manner.
Pattern
(1) Using Ind oo r Paper Cap as basic guide extend turn back by 3 Y/' (Fi g. 1)
(2) Add seam all owance arou nd the whole pattern. This size should fit mo st cadets but for juniors and sma ll er girls the pattern will probably be adequate without adding this sea m allowa nce if taking seams of not more than W'.

(1) On wron g side, interfac e betwe e n C-O, using a catchstitch which is barely visible on the right side. (2) On right side , stitch white ribbon , running absolutely central between lin es C-O ( Fig 1).
(3) Along lin e 0 , fold ba c k the facing of turn back (r ight sides tog ether ) and tack on seam lin e O-C both sid es (Fig 2). With wrong sid e uppermost tack red quilted linin g a ll round from C-B, A , etc , to C, eaving th e horizontal line C-C unstitiched in order to turn right sides out. Machine stitch. Before turning to right side trim seam turnings to V-i/l, snip points near stitching and c lip curved seam edges (Fig. 3).
(4) Turn hat right sides out. Press turn back well with a damp cloth Pres s remaind e r with damp cloth all owing r e d lining to show at the back edges. Care should be taken to make good points at A and B. (Fig. 4).
(5) Carefu ll y handstitch the two materials to gether along the lin e C-C after turning under the black material sea m all owance. The stitches shou l d not be taken throu gh to the underlying material.
