I am a senior at Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies, and I am dual-enrolled at the College of the Albemarle.
I am on track to graduate in May with both a high school diploma and an associate of arts degree. After that, I plan to go to a four-year university to study anthropology and eventually work as a museum conservator.
Through my high school, I had the opportunity to complete an internship with a local business. Since my career goal is to work in museums, I knew that interning at the Museum of the Albemarle would be a great experience. Under the guidance of Lori Meads in the Education Department, I have been able to gain knowledge of the inner workings of a museum. I have helped research and put together activities, assisted with school programs, and observed my supervisor in greeting and leading tours for visitors, among many other things. This internship has been and will continue to be a wonderful learning experience.
