Hanseatenes Bryggen
Et besøk på Schøtstuene, en del av Det Hanseatiske Museum, gir deg et innblikk i hanseatenes liv og arbeid på Bryggen fra ca. 1360 til 1760! I sommer tilbyr vi omvisninger, foredrag, skattekart og aktivitetsløype. I hagen vår kan du nyte matpakken din.
I Schøtstuene kan du oppleve hanseatenes forsamlingsrom, som er en viktig del av den hanseatiske historien. Guidet tur starter på Schøtstuene og fortsetter gjennom de smale passasjene på UNESCOs verdensarvsted Bryggen. Verdensarven er knyttet til minnet om hanseatenes handelskultur.
I vår museumsbutikk på Bryggen 33, finner du varer som har forbindelse til Bergen og den hanseatiske historien.

The Hanseatic Bryggen
Visiting Schøtstuene a part of The Hanseatic Museum, gives you an idea of the life and work of Hanseatic merchants on Bryggen from mid 14th to mid 18th century!
This summer we offer guided tours, treasure hunts and activities for children.
In our garden you may enjoy your packed lunch in a historically significant environment. Schøtstuene lets you explore the life of the Hanseatic merchants, and the assembly rooms they inhabited. As a part of the Hanseatic history.
Guided tours start at Schøtstuene and continue through the narrow passageways of the World Heritage Site Bryggen. Bryggen is a reminder of the town’s importance as part of the Hanseatic League’s trading. Our museum gift shop is located at Bryggen 33. Here you will find items and books connected to Bergen and the Hanseatic history.

Norsk og bergensk sjøfartshistorie
Hvordan kunne lille Norge bli en av verdens største sjøfartsnasjoner, og hva kjennetegner sjøfartsbyen Bergen? I et praktbygg med utstillinger over to etasjer gir vi deg historien om norsk og bergensk sjøfart. Følg utviklingen fra vikingskip til supertanker, få innsikt i sjømannsliv i krig og fred og se skatter fra havets bunn. Hvordan var det å være skeiv i den norske handelsflåten i perioden 1950-1980? Besøk temautstillingen SKEIVE SJØFOLK og lytt til sjøfolkenes egne fortellinger (vises til 31. desember 2023).

The maritime history of Norway and Bergen
How did Norway become one of the world's leading shipping nations, and what characterises the seafaring city of Bergen? In a magnificent building with exhibitions over two floors, we present the maritime history of Norway and Bergen. Follow the development from Viking longships to supertankers, gain an insight into the lives of seamen during times of war and peace, and see treasures from the bottom of the sea. What was it like to be queer in the Norwegian merchant navy in the period 1950–1980? See the exhibition QUEER AT SEA and listen to the sailors’ own stories (runs until 31 December 2023).

Sprell levende fiskerihistorie
Velkommen til Norges Fiskerimuseum i Sandviken, 15 minutters gange fra Bryggen.
Vi forteller kyst- og fiskerihistoriene som har formet Norge, og tar deg med gjennom historiske bygninger fra 1700-tallet. Med interaktive utstillinger passer vi også godt for familier på jakt etter morsomme opplevelser.
Om sommeren er havnen full av aktiviteter som gratis miljøkajakk og robåtutleie, og du kan nyte Bergens finest sjøreise til og fra museet med vår lille historiske ferge Beffen.
Vår kafé, BOD 24, inviterer til en hjemmekoselig stemning og serverer deilige lunsjretter og kaker – helt i sjøkanten.

Where the history of fisheries comes alive
Visit the Norwegian Fisheries Museum and learn more about life along the Norwegian coast.
The museum is located in authentic wharfside warehouses from the 18th century, as old as Bryggen. The historical buildings host modern exhibitions about Norwegian fisheries history and the ocean. With its interactive exhibitions, the museum is also perfect for a family visit.
In the summer you can try a green kayak or rent a rowing boat in the veteran harbour. Add to your experience by taking our little historical ferry, Beffen, to the museum and enjoy Bergen from the seaside. Our café BOD 24 offers lunch accompanied by one of the best sea views in Bergen. Continue the experience at our aquaculture visitor centre Storeblå. Get close to the Norwegian salmon through the modern aquaculture exhibition and join an adventurous RIB-boat trip to a fish farm.

Our modern exhibition gives the feeling of entering a world underwater. Learn more about fish farming and get an understanding of both the challenges the industry is facing as well as the opportunities ahead. If you want to experience Norwegian aquaculture outside Bergen up close, your visit can be combined with an adventurous RIB boat trip to a fish farm outside Bergen and a guided tour of the fish farm. Storeblå is situated a short walk from the the Norwegian Fisheries Museum in Sandviken
The Visitor centre is a collaboration between the Norwegian Fisheries Museum and the seafood corporation Lerøy.

11.000 years of coastal living
The Coastal museum of Øygarden is the perfect destination for a seaside excursion. Enjoy exhibitions about local coastal culture, guided tours to the fish farm Ljøsøy, or maybe a swim in the fjord at our Taremare seabath.
Did you know that the coastal landscape of Norway is a result of the human activities and occupation for the last 11.000 years? Our main exhibition “Life by the sea” tells the story of the very first Norwegians and how they used the available resources through the ages – from hunting to fishing and farming, from peat cutting to oil and gas, and now moving towards the green transition. Learn more about Øygardens rich culture of weddings, costumes and everyday textiles.
Displayed here is a wedding dress from the 1850’s, complete with a guilded crown.
Join us for a fun and exciting RIB tour to the fish farm. Here you will get a first hand look at how Norwegian salmon is produced, presented by the fish farmer himself. In the cages you will see the salmon swimming, maybe you will even get to feed them?

Motstanden som enda i tragedie
På Nordsjøfartmuseet i Telavåg fortel vi historia om eit av dei verste krigsbrota på norsk jord under 2. verdskrig. Historia om dei som flykta med båtar over Nordsjøen, om hemmelege oppdrag bak fiendens liner og om nazistane sin brutale hemn.
Den hemmelege Nordsjøfarten var ei livline mellom Norge og Storbritannia, og er berømt for sine heltar. Men dei var heile tida motarbeida av det tyske Gestapo. I 1942 blei Telavåg åstad for ei av dei verste represaliane i Norge, då Gestapo gjekk til aksjon mot bygda.
Filmen Tragedien i Telavåg går kvar halve time. Appen Telavåg 1942 tar deg med på vandring gjennom hendingane i bygda.
Kaféen har ei spektakulær utsikt mot havet og Telavåg. Museumsbutikken har litteratur, flotte gåver og fine suvenirar.
The resistance struggle that ended in tragedy
The North Sea Traffic Museum in Telavåg tells the story about one of the worst war crimes commited on Norwegian soil during WW2, those who fled across the North Sea, secret missions behind enemy lines and the Nazis' brutal revenge.
The secret North Sea Traffic was a lifeline between Norway and the United Kingdom, and is famous for its heroes. However, this traffic was under constant scrutiny by the German Gestapo. In 1942, Telavåg was the scene of one of the worst reprisals that took place in Norway, when the Gestapo took action against the village.
The film ‘The Telavåg Tragedy’ is shown every half hour. The Telavåg 1942 app takes you through the events that unfolded in the village.
The café has a spectacular view of the sea and Telavåg, and the museum shop sells books, gifts and souvenirs.

Festningsverket i fjellet
Med utsyn over innseglinga til Bergen, ligg Fjell festning. Anlegget er eit av dei største enkeltståande festningsanlegga i Europa og
del av Atlanterhavsvollen. Anlegget vart bygd av okkupasjonsmakta under 2. verdskrigen og er det største av sitt slag i Noreg.
Fjorten meter ned i fjellet ligg utstillingane våre, der vi tematiserer livet til soldatane, dei sovjetiske krigsfangane og livet til bygdefolket i skyggen av festningsverket. Fjell festning ligg i eit populært turområde og kaféen er ein attraksjon i seg sjølv.
Utvid opplevinga og utforsk området, finn bunkere, løypegraver og meir, alt mens du løyser oppgåver langs løypen med appen «Poplar».

The fortress in the mountain
The gateway to Bergen is guarded by Fjell Fortress. The fortress is one of the largest single-standing fortresses in Europe and part of the Atlantic Wall. The impressive construction was built by German occupation forces during World War II.
Descend 14 meters into the cannon well and learn more about both the cannon and the fortress. In the underground corridors and tunnels you will find exhibitions about the lives of the soldiers, the Soviet prisoners of war and the locals. Fjell Fortress is located in a popular recreation area, and the café Kanontårnet is a beautiful destination for the whole family.
Extend your experience and explore the landscape aroundt the fortress. Here you will find trenches and unique bunkers, also in a European context.

Krigshistorie og naturopplevingar
Heilt på nordspissen av Askøy ligg Herdla. Med sine flate marker og lange strender skil øya seg ut i det elles karrige øyriket vest for Bergen. På Herdla finst både det viktigast fugleområdet og det mest besøkte friluftsområdet i regionen. Museet held til i eit særeige bygg på Herdla fort som rommar både faste og skiftande utstillingar. Hovudattraksjonen er vraket av jagarflyet «Gul-16» som i si tid var stasjonert ved «Luftwaffe» sin base på øya under 2. verdskrig.
Museet kan tilby omvising i Herdla torpedobatteri – eit heilt intakt forsvarsanlegg frå den kalde krigen.
I kaféen vår serverer me kaffi, svele og smårettar. Vil du kombinera museumsbesøk med tur, bading, fiske eller fuglekikking er Herdla staden. Me leiger ut tråbilar og kanoar/båtar. Frå «Bua» er det råd å låna telt og anna friluftsutstyr.
Close to nature and war history
Herdla museum is situated on the small island of Herdla, at the very tip of the island of Askøy. The museum offers a spectacular view of the island and the surrounding archipelago, once of strategic importance.
The museum’s main attraction is the wreck of a German WWII fighter plane. You can also join a guided tour to the Herdla torpedo battery. Today this is part of the national heritage.
The museum offers a variety of exhibitions and a nice café. Herdla is widely know for its bird reserve and beautiful nature.

Milorgbasen i Masfjordfjella
Museet har namnet sitt etter motstandsgruppa som vart etablert i fjella i Masfjorden dei siste seks månadene av 2. verdskrigen.
I planane til dei allierte skulle basen operera bak dei tyske linjene i tilfelle alliert invasjon. På slutten av krigen hadde gruppa heile 259 soldatar.
På Matre var det ein fangeleir for over 200 krigsfangar frå austfronten. Dei jobba som slavar under forferdelege tilhøve, under oppsyn av ein tysk vaktstyrke. Mykje av ubåtbunkeren «Bruno» i Bergen er bygd med sand frå Matre.
Historia om Bjørn West er ein viktig del av norsk krigshistorie. Museet har ei flott samling våpen og gjenstandar, og gir eit godt innblikk i dei vanskelege forholda gruppa opererte under.

Second World War guerrilla base
The museum is named after a Norwegian guerrilla group with headquarters in the mountains around Matre during WW2. Under the German occupation of Norway, the group was to operate behind German lines in the event of an allied invasion. At the end of the war, the group numbered 259 soldiers.
In the small village of Matre more than 200 prisoners of war from the Eastern Front were detained. The conditions in the camp were terrible. Sand from the quarry at Matre was used for the construction of the submarine pen Bruno, in Bergen.
The story of Bjørn West is an interesting and dramatic part of the Norwegian war history. The museum has a collection of authentic weapons an artillery and gives an impression of the extreme conditions under which the soldiers lived and operated.

1. Nordnes – Nøstet / Maritime history
I hundrevis av år har Nordnes vært dominert av sjøfolk og skipsbygging. Du kan oppleve steder der seilskip fra fjerne strøk fortollet varer på 1600-tallet, eller se spor etter bergenske skippere som kjempet mot nordafrikanske pirater. Se steder der bergensskuter ble bygget på 1700–1800-tallet og der skuter ble reparert i Dikkedokken.
2. Bryggen – Bergens Sjøfartsmuseum / Maritime trade, wars and culture
Få glimt av handelen og kjøpmennene fra 1600-tallet til i dag, se minnesmerker som forteller om sjøfolkenes innsats i krigsog fredstid og hør om Ole Bull, superstjernen fra Bergen som rekrutterte norske emigranter til USA.
3. I krigens fotspor / In the footsteps of WW2 Som en viktig sjøfartsby fikk Bergens innbyggere merke krigen på flere områder. Denne vandringen tar deg med gjennom små og store hendelser under krigen. Du får blant annet se hvor invasjonsstyrken la til kai 9. april 1940, glimt av motstandskampen, innsatsen til krigsseilerne, eksplosjonsulykken i Vågen og hvor Gestapo og Nasjonal Samling holdt til.
