Biography
Santiago Iturralde (Buenos Aires, 1975) studied Fine Art at the Escuela Prilidiano Pueyrredón. In 2007 and 2017 he received a Grant for Creation in the Visual Arts from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes. He also received the Subsidy for Creators from the Fondo Metropolitano de Cultura BA in 2007, 2011 and 2013. Past solo exhibitions include El límite [The Boundary] (Oficina Proyectista, 2017), Prisma [Prism] (Centro Cultural Recoleta, 2015), Abre los ojos e Interiores [Open Your Eyes and Interiors], (Insight Arte, 2010 and 2007), Amor de mí [Love of Myself] (Galería Appetite, 2007), Home (Marina Kessler Gallery, 2004, Miami), H and El drama de los inocentes engañados [The Drama of Innocents Deceived] (Alianza Francesa, 2002 and 2003) and ¿Cree usted en la vida cultural después de la muerte? [Do You Believe in Cultural Life After Death?] (Centro Cultural San Martín, 2002), among others.
[UADE Prize for Painting] (Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, 2012 and 2006), Premio Klemm a las Artes Visuales [Klemm Award for the Visual Arts] (Fundación Jorge Federico Klemm, 2010 and 2009), Urgencias Subjetivas [Subjective Urgencies] (Centro Cultural de España, 2008), Paysages Intérieurs [Interior Landscapes] (Galerie Plume, Paris, 2008), Pintura y fotografía: Desplazamientos y fusiones [Painting and Photography: Movements and Fusions] (Centro Cultural Recoleta, 2008), Bárbaros [Barbarians] (Fondo Nacional de las Artes, 2005) and Place (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, 2004). He currently works as a painter and teaches at the Escuela Superior de Educación Artística Rogelio Yrurtia. His work is featured in numerous public and private collections.
