DR. JIM EDWARDS TRIES HIS HAND AT REMOVING A CLOT

MUSC President Emeritus Dr. James B. Edwards, and wife Ann, are joined by Dr. Imran Chaudry during Dr. Edwards’ return visit to MUSC to thank caregivers. On June 7, 2013, he suffered a life-threatening ischemic stroke and received immediate care at MUSC. In the Neurointerventional Angiography Suite, Dr. Edwards practiced removing a clot much like his own with a simulation device. Fortunately for Dr. Edwards, MUSC Stroke Center offers advanced personnel, diagnostics and therapeutic strategies beyond those normally found in primary stroke centers. Read his story on page 6.
