MSU Ads Club, an American Advertising Federation (AAF) student chapter, is a departmental professional organization for all students with an interest in advertising. The Ads Club’s mission is to enhance classroom learning by giving students an exposure to the real world of advertising. Murray Environmental Student Society
Our goal is to promote awareness and activism in environmental and conservation issues while enjoying and engaging in outdoor recreational activities. MESS is made up of students from all different majors who are passionate about environmental issues and about the environment in general. We are working to grow the club further this year but our first big project will be working alongside Murray State and helping coordinate recycling at Tent City this year! We also go hiking at LBL periodically and look for ways to volunteer in the community.

The Speech & Debate Union has been a major campus organization at Murray State for many, many years. Students of various backgrounds, interests, and majors rally around their love for competition, performance, and discourse. The SDU has won hundreds of awards, including several State Championships and the National Title in Debate. Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is the National Leadership Honor Society. Criteria for membership include being in the top 35% of your academic class, being enrolled at MSU for at least one semester, and having demonstrated leadership experience in at least one of the five “pillars” of campus life: academics and research, athletics, service to campus and community, communications, and/or creative and performing arts. The MSU Circle meets about once a month. We typically engage in at least one service project each year, along with other programs meant to enhance the professionalization and leadership capacities of our members. Psychology Club
The Psychology Club offers an opportunity for anyone interested in psychology to join with like-minded students in social, educational, and service-oriented activities. The club has sponsored movie nights, guest speakers, and panel discussions on topics ranging from eating disorders to sport psychology to career planning to graduate school preparation. Club members have taken field trips to locations as diverse as a state psychiatric hospital and a university doctoral program recruitment fair. They have joined together in fund-raising activities like a humansized rat maze run, escape-the-room games, yard sales, donation drives, trivia nights, and cookouts to raise money for worthy causes. Membership is open not only to psychology majors and psychology minors but to any Murray State student interested in psychology.
