Message from the Superintendent

Dear Lobo FamiLE;

To say that we are eager to start a normal school year this coming school year is an understatement. What I mean by that, is we are ready to do away with the distractions that kept us from making deep connections with our students and families. We are ready to open our doors to welcome you inside our schools. It is time to get back to the sense of community we cherish with our students, teachers, and parents.

One of the most effective communication tools we lost last year was the ability to connect emotionally. Our students were masked, our teachers had barriers, and it was hard to have those personal interactions. Our focus this year is to rise above and make an impact. As we move forward, we want to be extra intentional about letting students and parents know we are here for them. We are here to serve, to support, and more than anything, we want our students to soar academically.

We have worked incredibly hard to create new and innovative educational opportunities for our students. Little Elm ISD is leading the way in preparing our students to be life-long learners no matter where life takes them. We are excited to begin a new school year with six Nationally STEM certified schools; Brent, Chavez, Hackberry, Prestwick, Strike MS, and Walker MS. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; and the curriculum used provides our students the opportunity to imagine, design, build, troubleshoot, and collaborate. By the end of the year, we anticipate every campus, including Little Elm High School, Lakeview, and Oak Point Elementary schools will also earn their STEM certification. Additionally, the District will receive its certification, making us the first District in the state of Texas to achieve this level of certification. We are very proud of this accomplishment because of what this means for our students.

Through exceptional learning opportunities like these, it’s clear that great things will continue to happen in Little Elm ISD. We are all proud of where we have taken Little Elm ISD over the last few years. What I am most proud of is that we continue to strive for a culture where every student loves to learn and every teacher loves to teach.
