THE COLONY HIGH STUDENT ILLUSTRATES PUBLISHED CHILDREN’S BOOK

Author Maria Davies posted on Facebook looking for an illustrator for her new children’s book, “Peyton’s Purpose.” When The Colony High School junior Jacalyn Olson saw the post, she knew she had to submit her work. Olson got to work and soon after she now has a published book in her hands that she illustrated! FEED THE TEACHERS LUNCH

Hebron High School PTSA will be facilitating a sandwich or salad boxed lunch for Hebron Staff during Staff Appreciation week! Staff Appreciation week is from May 3rd to May 7th. PAINTED DECORATIVE CROSSWALK

The City of Lewisville is launching the Decorative Crosswalk Program which will add decorative crosswalks throughout the city over the course of several years. The first decorative crosswalk will be at Purnell and Charles Street, crossing Purnell on the east side of Charles. This calls for artists who can both design the artwork as well as install and maintain the work. Learn more on the city’s website

HEBRON’S WATCH YOUR WORDS CAMPAIGN

After hearing from students and their concerns regarding certain word and language use, Hebron High decided to bring awareness to the power of words and how words can affect others. It was dubbed the “Watch Your Words” campaign and contains a wide range of topics from courage to microaggressions. SCHOLARSHIP IN MEMORY OF VICKI ANNIS

Vicki Annis, a life-long resident of Lake Dallas, had an incredible passion for teaching. She impacted every student she came in contact with and had a heart for helping others.
