LANTANA’S FIRST FULL-TIME MAIL CARRIER RETIRES
Lantana’s first full-time mail carrier, Rick Hill, has retired after 20 years of delivering mail to local residents. Hill, now 70, has lived in the Argyle area since 1969 and decided to become a mail carrier in the 90s. At the time Lantana was a new area with houses widely spread out and Hill was the sole full-time mail carrier for this location. Hills plans to spend more time with family and work on his house throughout his retirement. photo courtesy of Cross Timbers Gazette

Many residents wonder what they can do to help the local first responders so Denton County Emergency Services District #1 let us know providing water is a great way to help and our local residents delivered! There were visits, drop-offs, neighborhood lemonade stands, and groups who donated hundreds of cases of water to their station over a two-week period. We love our supportive community! photo courtesy of Denton County Emergency Services District #1 Facebook page

NO ACADEMIC LOCKERS AT HARPOOL
Students will not be assigned an academic locker this year at Harpool Middle School. Full-size backpacks will be allowed to carry their items and athletic lockers will be available. This is due to lockers being phased out completely district-wide because lockers are difficult and expensive to maintain and there are now fewer textbooks to carry. Additionally, many of the lockers were removed during renovations.
