In the United States, 70% of people who experience low vision are currently unemployed. With such a large number of our citizens unable to work, it’s easy to see why this is such a huge issue for our country. Thankfully, Envision is on a mission to change those statistics and improve the everyday lives of the visually impaired.

Envision’s mission is to improve quality of life and provide inspiration and opportunity for blind or visually impaired people through employment, outreach, rehabilitation, education, and research.

Envision provides employment opportunities in manufacturing, sales, child development, retail, advanced technology, and training. Focusing on applied research and expanded educational opportunities for medical professionals enables the entire team at Envision to close gaps and work toward breakthroughs that will improve quality of life. None of what Envision does would be possible without support from its partners and donors. All funds they receive support Envision’s programs and services. Their amazing industry and corporate partners work with the organization to ensure that blind or visually impaired people have the same advantages as everyone else.

their computer and technology skills – regardless of payment ability.

Envision’s training helps each individual maintain their independence, continue their education, find and keep long-term professional positions, and develop the technical skills required to stay connected in their community. With these programs, Envision is helping to improve the quality of life of each individual who walks through their doors.

One of the family members of someone whose life has been touched by this program said, “Assistive Technology Training saved my mom’s life and restored her hope. I have not seen my mother truly smile in years. The smile I saw on her face after taking her to her first Assistive Technology Training was pure happiness – pure joy. For about a week, she was walking around, almost as if she was floating in newly found confidence. Just one hour of training gave my mom something she has not had since she was

diagnosed with glaucoma years ago: hope. The ability to see is important, but the assistive technology training gave my mom something even more important than her sight. Gaining her independence, communicating, socializing, and maybe even working once more is everything. This program is helping my mom regain purpose in life and manage this eye disease of glaucoma.”
