INDEPENDENCE FEST
Independence Fest 2021 will take place on Sunday, July 4 at Bakersfield Park! This year’s event will be FREE with live music, a kid’s zone, a car show, local vendors, food trucks, and a firework finale. Live music will feature performances by Le Freak and Josh Abbott Band. THE FLOUR SHOP SUMMER CAMP
Sign your little one up to join The Flour Shop Scratch Bakery for a 4-day summer camp full of learning, baking, crafts, and fun! Each day your child will bring home a dessert they created. STUDENT CREATES STEM CLUB FOR GIRLS
Flower Mound High School sophomore Kaylee Pfister is passionate about engineering. She wanted to share her passion with others so she started a STEM club for girls at Flower Mound Elementary School. She named this program STEM Squad and right away seven girls signed up to be a part of this club. 4TH MOST LIVEABLE SMALL CITY
Flower Mound was named the fourth “Most Liveable Small City” according to a study by SmartAsset. Researchers examined cities with populations between 65,000 and 100,000 comparing 11 key factors. Flower Mound rose 5 spots from its number 9 ranking in 2020 and is the only Texas community in the top 25!
CRUMBL COOKIES COMING SOON
The very popular cookie chain, Crumbl Cookies is coming to Flower Mound! It will be located at 2550 Cross Timbers Rd. Flower Mound in the Timber Prairie Plaza. Crumbl is famous for their weekly rotating menu featuring more than 120 specialty flavors. Their cookies are made fresh daily and will be available through in-store, delivery, pickup, and nationwide shipping.


FREE SUMMER MEALS FOR LISD STUDENTS
Lewisville ISD will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch through the rest of summer until August 6th. Meals are open to all Lewisville ISD students 18 and under and are available for pickup at certain locations and times. Dates, locations, and times will differ throughout the summer and you can view all that information at www.lisd.net/freemeals.
MIDDLE SCHOOLERS GO TO CAREER EXPLORATION CAMP
More than 600 Lewisville ISD middle schoolers had the opportunity to spend three days learning at the Technology, Exploration and Career Center (TECC) East and TECC West for a career exploration camp. Students went through hands-on business/ entrepreneurship, computer science, and nutrition sessions with other stops including animal science, architecture, cosmetology, horticulture and more!
