n the heart of Flower Mound, Shine Fitness has become more than just a yoga and fitness studio — it’s a community where encouragement, health, and connection come together. Co-founders Julie Luff and Angela Hughbanks have built a space where every member is greeted by name, treated like family, and inspired to live stronger, healthier lives. Julie’s journey began back in 2003, when she started practicing yoga as a way to complement marathon training. In 2014, she completed a 500hour intensive yoga training, so she could begin teaching others, and she started managing a local studio. When the pandemic forced that studio to close, Julie and Angela knew the community needed a new home — a place that was welcoming to everyone. She partnered with Angela, who had fallen in love with the positivity of yoga and had worked with her in another yoga studio for several years. Angela had been teaching full time since 2006,

n June 2024, Dallas Animal Services reached 155% of its shelter capacity. At the same time, Fort Worth Animal Care &
Control reported taking in 1,625 animals while only 732 were adopted. Each year, thousands of animals enter shelters across North Texas. Sadly, many never find permanent homes. The difficult reality of euthanasia is part of a much larger issue: pet overpopulation. The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) has been addressing this problem directly for over twenty years. What started as a passion project for one individual has become a trusted nonprofit organization. Founded in 2002 by Stacey Schumacher, TCAP’s mission is to provide affordable, high-quality veterinary services and reduce pet overpopulation in North Texas. TCAP offers spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and preventative care. With its high-quality and low-cost approach, TCAP makes pet healthcare more accessible. TCAP operates eight dedicated clinics located in Denton, Fort Worth, Joshua, Hurst, Garland, Allen, Weatherford, and Arlington. In addition, the organization runs weekly mobile clinics throughout the region. These services ensure that pet owners can access care regardless of where they live. Affordability remains central to TCAP’s mission. With service prices up to 87% lower than those at traditional veterinary practices, TCAP ensures pet care remains within reach for every owner. “Our
