Utility Desktop Surveys Requesting and obtaining utility records from various providers can be a frustrating and pro-longed process. At Murphy Geospatial, we offer a comprehensive desktop utility mapping service that provides our clients with detailed and interpretative reports complemented with collated 2D plan outputs.

Our utility desktop mapping service removes the time-consuming requirement to interact with multiple independent utility providers. Our complementary collation service summarises and simplifies the multiple responses into one co-ordinated overview of buried infrastructure on your site.

Site Reconnaissance Service A site reconnaissance survey can be carried out in conjunction to a utility desktop survey to identify the physical features that support the existence of utilities within the project area. The methodology involves carrying out on-site checks to validate the existing utility records obtained from the utility service providers and to assess if there are any conflicts that need to be resolved.

On-site checks shall document: •

Utility Route Corridor Mapping Analysis For proposed below-ground cable routes and pipelines, one of the most important tasks pre- construction is for design engineers to select a suitable route to minimize obstructions and optimise construction costs.

Stemming from our desktop utility search and our underground utility survey service, Murphy Geospatial offers a route corridor analysis service to optimize the position of proposed new cable and pipeline routes at design stage. This service includes clash detection analysis, 3D augmented reality viewing of the proposed route, and highlights pinch points and areas of vital engineering significance.

Site Verification Services To complement our non-intrusive underground utility package, Murphy Geospatial provides a site verification service that offers intrusive surveys using a variety of techniques best suited to your project requirements.

Site Verification is commonly referred to as “Survey Type A” of the ‘PAS 128 Specification for underground utility detection, verification and location’ guidelines. By carrying out an underground utility survey and site verification survey together in consultation with our clients, Murphy Geospatial will offer the complete underground survey solution when in the design stage of any engineering or construction project. With this combined approach, utility surveys currently undertaken by Murphy Geospatial can be verified on site using slit trenching or vacuum excavation procedures, thus reducing the element of risk.
