Players Directory Report

I would again like to thank the subcommittee for giving of their time and expertise through the year.

At present the subcommittee consists of Shane Cooke, Mary Power, Richie Sewell, Dick McCarthy, Marcella Kelly and Eddie Ronayne.

Updating the directory remains a manual exercise and it is thanks to Triona Buckley that all new additions and changes are kept up to date.

We have recently introduced an on-line Grading form to give players and coaches an easier option to get new players included in the Directory. Thanks to Kevin Mullen for arranging this which you can see on our website at : www.munstertennis.ie/players-directory-request

We continue to review the advice document and any updates will be circulated to all Clubs. The most recent update was in respect of Winter League format and points.

All Clubs recently received information on the WTN rating system which is used throughout the World and which Ireland is now in the process of adopting.

Munster Tennis will continue to operate our Player’s Directory until the WTN Rating system gets a proper run through and we are confident that it is a true and accurate reflection of players abilities.

Please continue to refer to our Directory with regard to grading of players for your open weeks.

Below are some statistics that show the steady growth of tennis in Munster with nearly 7,500 players now listed.
