It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you all to the Tennis Ireland Senior Interprovincial Championships, hosted this year by the esteemed Sunday’s Well Tennis Club. This event, a cornerstone of Irish tennis, brings together the best players from across the country to compete and showcase their talents at the highest level of our sport.
The Senior Interprovincials hold a special place in the hearts of many within the Irish tennis community. This tournament is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of the dedication, sportsmanship, and camaraderie that define tennis in Ireland. Each match is an opportunity for players to test their skills against their peers, represent their Provinces with pride, and contribute to the rich tapestry of our sport’s history.
Over the years, this event has seen remarkable displays of talent and tenacity, with many participants going on to represent Ireland on the international stage. The level of play has consistently been exceptional, reflecting the hard work and commitment of our athletes, coaches and support teams.
As we gather at Sunday’s Well Boating & Tennis Club, a venue renowned for its excellent facilities and welcoming atmosphere, we anticipate another thrilling chapter in this storied competition.
This year, we are particularly proud to see a diverse array of participants, from seasoned masters, who have long been pillars of Irish tennis, to rising stars eager to make their mark. It is this blend of experience and youthful energy that makes the Senior Interprovincials such a unique and compelling event. The matches promise to be fiercely contested, and I encourage all players to bring their best to the court, compete with integrity, and, above all, enjoy the experience.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Sunday’s Well Boating & Tennis Club and Munster Tennis for hosting this event.
The dedication and professionalism of the club’s staff and volunteers have been instrumental in ensuring a smooth and successful tournament. Their passion for the sport and commitment to excellence are evident in every aspect of the preparation and execution of this event.
Furthermore, I want to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our sponsors and partners, whose support makes it possible to host competitions of this calibre. Their commitment to promoting tennis at all levels in Ireland is deeply appreciated and vital to the continued growth and success of our sport.
To the spectators and supporters, both those present at the club and those following the action from afar, your enthusiasm and encouragement are vital to the players and the overall atmosphere of the event. Your presence, whether in person or in spirit, adds to the vibrancy and excitement of the competition.
In closing, I wish all the players the very best of luck in their matches. Play with passion, respect your opponents, and cherish the opportunity to compete at this prestigious event. May this weekend be filled with memorable moments, both on and off the court, as we celebrate the sport we all love.
