The 2021 Tennis Ireland Seniors Interprovincial Cham Championships pionships
Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th November 2021 Catholic Institute Athletic Club, Limerick
As President of Tennis Ireland, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The 2021 Tennis Ireland Seniors Interprovincial Championships.
Having missed out last year due to Covid-19, it is fantastic to be able to have such events again this year. Thanks to all involved with
Munster Branch of Tennis Ireland for running the event - a real credit to their dedication, with this weekend following soon after the Young Seniors in Waterford last weekend.
We are very grateful to all at Catholic Institute Athletic Club (CIAC) for hosting these Championships at their fantastic venue, a club where a warm
gracious welcome from their passionate members always awaits. Here’s hoping the skies remain as blue as their remarkable courts!
I wish for everyone involved in the event to have a great time and I look forward to meeting you over the weekend. Shane Cooke

Founded in 1910, Catholic Institute Athletic Club
(CIAC) is one of the oldest sporting institutions in Munster & Ireland.
With eight all-weather artificial turf tennis courts, four squash courts, and a flood-lit hockey pitch, the club has a long and rich tradition in the Limerick area for promoting these sports, producing numerous international and interprovincial players. Of recent note, two of its women’s hockey players - Roisin Upton & Naomi Carroll - were on the Irish national team that competed in the Tokyo Olympics. Known for its welcoming, friendly atmosphere, the tennis club hosts two opens (The Limerick Senior Singles Open & The Limerick Senior Doubles Open) and has been the venue for the finals of several Munster Branch events. Its tennis members old and new enjoy the thriving men’s, women’s, and junior ladders, compete in annual club events such as the Spring Doubles, Club Championships, and Autumn Doubles, and socialise with other tennis clubs in frequent home or away friendlies. Catholic Institute teams at various levels regularly vie in (and sometimes win) the Munster Summer Cup and Winter League competitions.
