Bus Terminal

The significance of this project lays in the characteristic of the city. The city itself has a language which this project has to follow. Lal Darwaja being one of the four main terminals in the Ahmedabad city, has to have a remarkable impact on an urban level. The main focus of the project is to enhance this landmark and provide proper spaces for different facilities and to identify the potential of the space and adding more value to it.

The top two floors focuses on the immediate context issue.

The dense fabric of the surrounding area addresses to excess vehicular parking requirement, to which two special floors are provided for over 570 four wheelers and over 380 two wheelers parking. These levels are accessed from a separate entry-exit ramps from the ground floor without disturbing the bus mobility on the site.

The ground floor isolates into two different levels, both bus terminals establishing the efficiency and capacity of the bus terminal upto 180% Separate ramps for entry and exit for both the floors are provided adequately to merge with all the other facilities.

This could become the only bus terminal with an ample amount of capacity as well as with a bus depo with an arrangement accomodating parking for over 64 buses at a time with provision of a workshop for quick repairs and maintenance of the buses on the go.
