Imported from Marblehead–Not Finland: Translating Global Aesthetics through Local Fashion: accepted in-process research presentation, Costume Society of America National Symposium This research examines Marblehead Handprints, a women-founded New England textile company, and its role in translating Scandinavian modernist aesthetics into American fashion and material culture. Using archival research, oral histories, and material analysis, the project situates the company within histories of sustainability, women-led enterprise, and transatlantic design exchange.
