What's the story? LOCALS LENDING A HAND Mums of the Hills (MotHs) was founded in 2015 as an online group to help local Yarra Ranges mums connect. Since then, the group has grown to a community with 3.7k 'moths' members that support and celebrate being a parent in the hills. At the end of 2020, after a tumultuous year, Mums of the Hills incorporated. This has enabled the development of events and webinars to provide further support to both our online and place based communities. Here in the Yarra Ranges, 2021 has arguably been more challenging than 2020. If the successive lockdowns weren't enough, the the June 9th and July 27th storms have made running a business especially hard. It is why, more than ever we are doing what we can to help our local community and businesses. During lockdown #1 while searching online for local businesses to support, I was
surprised that there wasn't a central online page that kept locals updated on what local businesses were doing or selling day by day during lockdowns. Were they open? Were they delivering or allowing local pick up? Most importantly, did they stock toilet paper? That's why Mums of the Hills created the Yarra Ranges Local Business page. The page is run voluntarily by moth members during our lockdowns to promote and support local businesses, as after all, they're at the heart that keeps our communities alive. This Fathers Day catalogue is the result of one almighty local online window shop. Images are linked to the business for ease of purchase.
