Sharon McMahon

As a former high school government and law teacher, Sharon has earned a reputation as ‘America’s Government Teacher’ amidst the historic 2020 election proceedings for her viral e orts on Instagram to educate the general public on political misinformation. Through a simple mission to share non-partisan information about democracy, Sharon has amassed over a million followers online, a ectionately called the “Governerds", who look to her for truth and logic in a society plagued by bias and conspiracy. She also uses her platform to help others as she has raised more than $4.2 million for charities like RIP Medical Debt and World Central Kitchen, with the help of her online community. Furthermore, as a champion of teachers and education, Sharon raised over $1.2 million dollars in one weekend in August 2022 with 100% of the money going to $500 individual teacher grants.

Students In Action is a unique youth service, leadership, and recognition program that unleashes potential in each young person and multiplies the good they achieve Each year, Students In Action teams share their impact with a panel of community judges at Public Service Pitch Day. The winning team from each community were in attendance at Multiplying Good's Celebration of Service in Indianapolis this past June where the national winning team was selected.
