P1 have been focusing on phonological awareness meanwhile P2 have been working on joined sounds. As a class, Children will learn a Nursery Rhyme every 2 weeks. The focus on maths will see it being taken outdoors. The All About Me topic will focus on what children need to stay healthy, including keeping clean, handwashing, etc. there will be focus on feelings and emotions through PATHS work.

P2/3 will be using the Outdoor Box to focus on reading into writing using the great outdoors. The class will be reading How the Pirates Turned the Tide, this then links to conservation and pollution and a pirate 18

interdisciplinary learning topic. In Numeracy the focus will be addition and subtraction, place value and data handling.

P4/5 will be examining the Text, The Hodgeheg. There will be focus around note taking, skimming and scanning for key vocabulary, selecting information and the purpose of a text. Within numeracy place value and measure will be a focus. The children will also be scientists with Mrs Musson, exploring parts of the human body and carrying out scientific investigations.

P5/6 are studying the novel Millions. There will be a focus on characterisation allowing children to compare and contrast characters, make predications and develop visualisation. In writing the children will be creating a mini terrarium, they will also focus on persuasive writing.

Within numeracy place value will be the main focus, addition and subtraction will then follow.
