By Eugene Majied I am happy that Mr. Muhammad let the people know some of his aims and purposes as well as we, Muslims. We believers know that he has been planning for some time to commercialize the South side of Chicago and had made those economic plans that he exposed last Saturday. He wants to make the South side for Black people only, like the North side has for the whites. If you could see some of the sketches Mr. Muhammad has for Black people here on the South side, everyone would rise up and try to help put this great program over. Just think over it — if only 5 0 0 , 0 0 0 would help weekly with just fifty cents (50<p) or one dollar ( $ 1 . 0 0 ) , Mr. Muhammad would have the South side changed immediately for you. He has not been able to get the money to do so — only from our believers backing him up. If you would do what they would do we'd have it tomorrow morning. Let us help Mr. Muhammad, dear Brothers, to make the South Side YOUR OWN.

The Messenger of

M u s l i m

This is the question asked most frequently by both the whites and the b l a c k s . The answers to this question I shall state as simply as possible. 1. We want freedom. W e want a full and complete freedom. 2. We want justice. Equal justice under the law. We want justice applied equally to all, regardless of creed or class or color. 3. We want equality of opportunity. We want equal membership in society with the best in civilized society. 4 . We want our people in America whose parents or grandparents were descendants from slaves, to be allowed to establish

a separate state or territory of their

own—either on this continent or elsewhere. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to provide such land and that the area must be fertile and minerally rich. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to maintain and supply our needs in this separate territory for the next 20 to 25 years—until we are able to produce and supply our own needs. Since

W e w a n t f r e e d o m f o r all black m e n a n d w o m e n n o w under death sentence i n innumerable prisons i n the North a s well asthe South. W e w a n t every black m a n and w o m a n t o have t h e f r e e d o m to accept o r reject being separated f r o m the slave master's children and establish a land of their o w n . We know that the above plan for the solution of the black and white conflict is the best and only answer to the problem between two people. 6. W e w a n t a n i m m e d i a t e end t o t h e police b r u t a l i t y and mob attacks against the so-called Negro

United States. The United States g o v e r n m e n t should provide, free, all necessary text books and equipment, schools and college buildings.
