WORLD POPULARITY polls, if in existence, would probably show the United States ranking near the bottom. An example of world attitudes toward the U.S. was recently seen at this Madrid American flag burning, led by students from the U.S. and joined in by scores of Spaniards.

MOTHERS' DAY opposition to the Viet Nam war made huge piles on the desk of Sen. William Fulbright (D.-Ark.), a Rhodes scholar and leading opponent of America's war

The Messenger of Allah Presents

he Jflutfltm ^ p r o g r a m hat the jflusfoms Slant This is the question asked most frequently by both the whites and the blacks. The answers to this question I shall state as simply as possible. 1. We want freedom. We want a full and complete freedom. 2. We want justice. Equal justice under the law. We want justice applied equally to all, regardless of creed or class or color. 3. We want equality of opportunity. We want equal membership in society with the best in civilized society. 4. We want our people in America whose parents or grandparents were descendants from slaves, to be allowed to establish a separate state or territory of their own—either on this continent or elsewhere. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to provide such land and that the area must be fertile and minerally rich. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to maintain and supply our needs in this separate territory for the next 20 to 25 years—until we are able to produce and supply our own needs. Since w ecannot getalong with t h e m i n p e a c e a n d e q u a l i t y , a f t e r g i v i n g t h e m 400 years of our sweat and blood and receiving in return some o f t h eworst treatment h u m a n beings have ever experienced, w e believe o u r contributions t o this land a n dt h e suffering forced upon us b y white A m e r i c a , justifies our d e m a n d f o r complete separation i n a state o r t e r r i t o r y o f o u r o w n . 5. W e w a n t f r e e d o m f o r a l l B e l i e v e r s o f I s l a m n o w held i nfederal prisons. W e w a n t freedom for all black m e n and w o m e n n o w under death sentence i n innumerable prisons in t h e N o r t h a s w e l l a s t h e S o u t h . We want every black m a n and w o m a n t o have t h ef r e e d o m t o accept o r reject being separated f r o m t h eslave master's children and establish a land of their o w n . We know that the above plan for the solution of the black and white conflict is the best and only answer to the problem between two people.

6 W e w a n t a n i m m e d i a t e end t o the police b r u t a l i t y a n d m o b attacks against the socalled Negro throughout the United States. We believe that the Federal government should intercede t o see that black m e n and w o m e n tried in white courts receive justice i n accordance with the laws o f the land—or allow us to build a n e w nation for ourselves, dedicated t o justice, freedom and liberty. 7. A s l o n g a s w e a r e n o t a l l o w e d t o e s tablish a state o r t e r r i t o r y o f o u r o w n , w e demand not only equal justice under the laws of t h e U n i t e d States, b u tequal e m p l o y m e n t opportunities—NOW! W ew a n t a l l black children educated, taught and trained by their o w n teachers. Under such schooling system w e believe we will m a k e a better nation o fpeople. T h e United States government should provide, free, a l l necessary text books a n d equipment, schools a n d college buildings. T h e M u s l i m teachers shall b e left free t o teach a n d t r a i n their people i n the w a y o frighteousness, decency and self respect. 10.
