生 活 記 錄
LIFE During the weekends, I started my trip to the countryside around Tainan. Sometimes, I travelled alone, but sometimes with my friends. I drived out the city, and the adventure began. I like to watch the activities of people, including the locals and the tourists. Peeping the daily life of others, I tried to record them through the videos or the photographs.

On the other hand, I spent most of my time doing the projects from different courses of mine. For the design course, my groupmates and I spent lots of time thinking and making our project. We had to share what we felt and thought about the base was, and we made models together every night. For the design thinking and making course, the team I belong have been to the fish market which only opens at mid-night and is far different from the markets we had ever been to. I also took a small part in helping making models of the graduation design project. As a result, I watched several model presentations and listened some very great project representations.

TRANSIT BRIDGE

For this project, we had to analysis the base, and then structure our building in a specific place. My base consisted of two separate continents and several bridges which connect two other bases on each side of mine. Therefore, I regarded it's necessary to have something which can connect those continents and bridges. And this kind of building would be used as a transit spot. This base setting is not limited in the real world nowaday, so I supposed the transit spot will be totally different from the one in this real world.

I sperated the whole building into two systems, structrual system and interior space system. For the structrual system, I used truss system which consists of several regular triangles, as the result, this cantilever bridge can look lighter with only one point landing. For the interior space system, I made each floor horizontal and tried to imagine the picture inside the building.

TECHNICS In the last month of our first year, we built up a recreational body suspension structure. Starting with base analyzing and having quick but serious discussion, we began to build it. In this project, we faced many problem which will not happen in making models. For example, we experienced the power of gravity for the first time, found the limitations of wood, and experienced making the structuring plan with rainy days considered. To deal with those problem, we sometimes had to rediscuss the structuring plan or even our original design.

Our main material is wood, 420*9*4 (cm). At first we made several crosslike structure models, and let them clutch others randomly. Then, we took out what were not supporting any force. After several times of simplification, we came out the original model. Meanwhile, to solve the problem that one wood stick would look a little weak, and we had to make the constructure steadier, we came out three kinds of junction and a new form of the wood stick.

THE FISH MARKET For this project, we spent nearly two month surveying Anping Fish Market and discussing what we wanted to display. In order to come out with a great exhibition plan, we used lots of words, videos, or photos to record the ideas that we got from the fish market. Through this project, we saw many night activities and jobs, which we had never seen before.

After visiting the fish market, we wanted to discuss the issue of socialization, which is a process of becoming the one who the society plans you to be. This idea was come from what we saw in teh fish market. Poeple tried to form fish into a shape which looks alive, but what we saw during the method was the fish strived to struggle free. On the other hand, we also found that people would hide from the public when they were doing some very important works, for instance, cleaning the fish scales. We thought this kind of things are very similar to what this society is doing, trying to make people have a correct behavior and covering some important but not pretty things. To show what we felt in the fish market, we planed to use hearing divices, painting, and a work which kept some fish blood and scales on it. It's about being free or being shackled.

PRESEN TATION Using different materials and tools, we learned the different affects between them. And we practiced making a good composition of the subjects or the view of the buildings.
