Head of School David Perkinson Dear Episcopal Collegiate Families, I have cherished my first year as Head of Episcopal Collegiate School. We have a remarkable story, an incredible community, and a compelling mission. Whether I’m delivering a chapel talk to our Lower School students, stepping in to a Middle School classroom, or attending an athletic event for one of our many sports teams, every where I turn, I see students being prepared to lead the way.

You can see it in the work of our students during our recent trip to Houston to aid in flood relief efforts—a trip initiated by overwhelming student interest—or in the middle school students’ efforts to raise money for flood relief. You can hear it in our Senior Chapel Talks, our Honor Council leadership, and our student-led service projects.

You can sense it in the engagement of our lower school students and in the encouragement their teachers give them. You can see the results in our academic success, in our college admissions, and in the lives of our alumni. We are committed to equipping our students to live principled and fulfilling lives of leadership and service.

Just as our students so often step out in faith and service time and time again, this Annual Report honors those of you who have made an impact with your gifts. With more than 500 donations made to our Annual Fund this past year and record parent participation, I can assure you that your giving is making a tangible, real difference in lives of our students, our school, and beyond. I am honored and humbled to be a part of such an incredible community. It is truly a joy to be Wildcat!

As we enter our 20th year of operation, we are poised to continue to lead the way. As this year’s Annual Fund success has demonstrated, we are better together. You may have already heard me say this, but it bears repeating. At this milestone in our School’s history, there has never been a more important time to make this sentiment real. What does “better together” look like? As I have told our students and faculty, it means that we move forward with a shared sense of purpose and a renewed commitment to our mission. It means that we continue to show the world what real community looks like and that we work together to prepare our students with the skills, knowledge, values and vision to make an impact. Each one of us, regardless of means or station in life, has a role to play. All of our gifts of time, talent, and treasure – large and small – matter greatly to the future this school.

Thank you for your overwhelming generosity this year and for showing your pride in our school in such a powerful way.

We continue to reach higher at Episcopal Collegiate School. That’s who we are. We couldn’t do any of it without you. Remember that we are better together, and thank you.

Without the Annual Fund, faculty, staff, and students would not be able to have the opportunities that have made the Episcopal experience what it is today.

Hosting a Google Summit, as well as providing 3D Printers for our community allows everyone involved to be on the cutting edge of thought and action.

Matt Radtke I am continually amazed by the overwhelming generosity of the Episcopal Collegiate family that is evident in the daily interactions and selfless gifts of your time, talent, and resources. The 2017-2018 school year was yet another banner year for our students and community. With the outpowering support from parents, trustees, faculty, alumni, past parents, grandparents and friends of school the Episcopal Collegiate Annual Fund raised over $545,000. We are fortunate to have this widespread support for the school’s top giving priority, which benefits every student, in every classroom, every day. The Annual Fund is a critical source of support for the school that ensures all students have the quality learning environment and sense of community we have come to know as Episcopal Collegiate School. It’s fundamental to the school’s operating budget--approximately 4%--and for that reason, we are so deeply appreciative of your support.

Highlights of the 2017-2018 Episcopal Collegiate Annual Fund, Chairs Penny & Gordon Wilbourn: •100% Faculty & Staff participation totaling over $42,000.

•100% participation by the Class of 2018.

•Record parent participation at 60%--let’s achieve 100% next year!

•Over 600 individual gifts.

•Donor retention rate of 77%.

The outpouring of support was not limited to the Annual Fund, as the school was the beneficiary of just over $1 million dollars in total giving. The Heart of Gold Auction raised over $350,000 for faculty professional development-a big Wildcat thank you to our co-chairs Ginger Blackmon and Sydney Blackmon.

In addition, the school received over $130,000 in capital gifts from members of the Episcopal community to support different initiatives ranging from the arts to technology to financial assistance to capital projects.

In addition, I would like to thank all our volunteers for the countless hours you spent and continue to spend working on behalf of our students and Episcopal.

We would not be the community we are today with out your time and talent.

On behalf of the students and faculty who directly benefit from your gifts, thank you! Once again, I hope you will join me in supporting and making Episcopal one of your top giving priorities this year. If you did not actively participate in the daily life of the school last year, I encourage you to get involved through volunteer opportunities, participating in special events such as the Wild Game Dinner--which directly supports the arts and athletics programand supporting our fundraising efforts.
