For this introduction to the 2023 Montana Colors catalog, we have taken an original approach to an important subject that is receiving more and more attention: sustainability. The above reference to fashion is not gratuitous, as graffiti artists have always been against fashion as a manifestation of the temporality and superficiality of consumer-oriented societies. In this sense, we would like to outline our endeavor in terms of sustainability by upholding a work ethic of commitment and responsibility.

All kinds of companies are embracing policies that focus more and more on sustainability. As they should, because ecological awareness is an ethical priority that has only gained in relevance, due to the exponential impact of human development on the world over the last 100 years. Although many may feel that eco-friendly policies are marketing gimmicks, we at Montana Colors consider them to be of paramount importance, and our efforts in this sense have increased in step with our growth. This has been a constant throughout our history and it will guide our steps in the future.

As they say in superhero films, with great power comes great responsibility. Montana Colors, as an independent firm, is not in the same league as big business, but our commitments go much further than mere words. In addition to our use of recyclable materials, our spray paints, packaging and other accessories have always included reminders to our customers to properly dispose of our products after use. Using green energy such as biomass, relying on recycled solvents and developing technologies such as water-based paints are just three examples of our diverse efforts that seek a common goal. But we don’t stop there. We also encourage our domestic and industrial customers to consider repair or replacement as a better alternative to the compulsive generation of waste and as a means of promoting creative and satisfactory activities.

However, one of the greatest responsibilities we have assumed is that of educating youth. Just as promotion of the world of graffiti keeps us in contact with a sector of society in a state of personal development, the promotion of alternative cultural knowledge leads to greater awareness of ecological ethics.

In this way, Montana Colors’ role in the defense of sustainability goes beyond mere facts: Our contact with the more rebellious side of society is an opportunity for us to contribute values to the world that will help to build a better future for all. This has always been at the heart of Montana Colors, and we intend to keep it that way.

The Acrylic Marcador pens and Water Based refills are designed for studio work. Our 94 Graphic Markers are perfect for illustration and calligraphy. Montana Colors has you covered for every phase of painting and repair in the fields of motoring and DIY with two types of putty. These products are designed to smooth imperfections and are essential to fill holes or deep scratches in surfaces that you’re going to paint. Both products boast outstanding effectiveness thanks to Montana Colors’ 2k technology.

Following the minimum environmental impact policy of our brand, these putties are free of styrene - an aggressive component that is usually present in the formulations of this type of product.

Universal Polyester Putty 250 - 500 g

Montana Colors Universal Polyester Putty is a lightweight, multifunctional, 2k styrene-free putty. It is designed for use on sheet steel, aluminum, polyester and wood. Its high thixotropy allows gluing and filling without the risk of sinking. It is easy to apply and sand, doesn’t crack or shrink when dry and can be painted over with any MTN product.

The product includes a tube with the catalyst (to be mixed with the paste in a proportion of 2%) and a basic spatula for users who don’t have this tool.

Acrylic spray varnish made with solvent-based thermoplastic acrylic resins. Ultra-fast drying, its main function is to protect and protect different surfaces.

2K Two-Component Varnish 400 ml

Highly glossy 2-component polyurethane varnish with a great resistance to gasoline and other chemicals. Excellent resistence to the elements and humidity. It can be applied on most surfaces and two-coat paint systems.

It is designed as a top coat to protect and enhance painted surfaces: machines, automotive parts, industry, decoration and where a high-performance varnish is required. It does not turn yellow.

For professional use only. Contains isocyanates. The use of a mask is mandatory.

Multi-Purpose Vinyl Coating 400 ml

Matte paint that, once dried, becomes a removable (peelable) protective layer. Developed for the protection and customization of objects, it is also weather resistant. It can give a “grip” effect to the painted surface due to its “soft touch” characteristic. Ideal for the protection of metals, glass, plastics (PP, PVC, etc.) or any non-porous surface, offering excellent removability. On porous surfaces the removability of the paint can be more difficult or impossible. We recommend carrying out a previous test before executing the final work, in order to check its removability and that the required characteristics are effective. Apply five or six thin coats to achieve a sufficient thickness, allowing approximately 5-10 minutes for the paint to dry between coats until a noticeable appearance of the film is obtained.

Antioxidant coating formulated with acrylic resin and high-purity stainless steel metallic pigments. With excellent resistance to weathering and extreme temperatures (300ºC), this product serves as a protective finish for rough stainless steel surfaces. Neutralizing primer for local rust on steel. Generates a long-lasting anticorrosive surface protection. Formulated with a clear epoxy resin so as not to harm the finish of the painted surface, it neutralizes and encapsulates rust on damaged steel surfaces, hence generating a waterproof layer that is resistant to corrosive agents. It allows for optimal subsequent painting, thus extending its anticorrosive properties and minimizing its maintenance. The product can be repainted using most solventt and water-based paints.

A pneumatic machine for the packaging of aerosols, with a simple, fast and safe system. Compatible with 400 ml pre-filled aerosols, with a maximum paint fill of 100 ml per load. Measures 69 cm.

Check with your sales agent for operating instructions, installation, and on/off positions, as well as for maintenance and safety instructions.

1. The surface to be painted must be clean, dry and totally free of grease or dust.

2. Protect your working area from airborne paint overspray and splatters. Use gloves and a mask during prolonged jobs.

3. Shake the can vigorously until you hear the mixing ball for at least one minute.

4. Gently press down on the nozzle to release the paint in the valve onto a testing surface.

5. For filling in surfaces we recommend the aerosol being in the most vertical position possible. Apply in various thin coats from a distance of 15-20 cm.

6. If you wish to paint sharp, controlled lines, reduce the distance from the surface by a few centimeters. Painting closer to the surface leads to greater line definition and paint build-up.

7. Perform tests with different nozzles to find out what kind of line and thickness are perfect for your needs.

8. Once finished applying the paint, we recommend cleaning the nozzle by turning it upside down and pressing the cap until only gas released.

9. Store your spray cans in a cool and dry place.

Did you know?

With the help of the MTN PRO Solvent spray, you can recover dirty and partially clogged nozzles. Simply place the nozzles on the can as if you were going to paint with them, and press down. The solvent will clean their interior and leave them ready for use again.

Before you begin we recommend cleaning the surface to be painted of all grease and dust. Then, shake the can vigorously until you hear the sound of the mixing ball bearings.

It is always best to apply two thin coats than one thick coat. When painting lines, speed control and the distance from the surface being painted are essential.

After use we recommend turning the can upside down and pressing the spray nozzle until the can releases clear gas.

MTN ACRYLIC MARCADOR

Excellent opacity, quick drying with great resistance to sunlight and water.

The MTN Acrylic Marcador is a high opacity water-based felt tip paint marker. Suitable for practically all types of surfaces, the only limit to its use is your imagination!

Available in a variety of different tip formats, the range consists of 17 colors in standard sizes, specifically, the 1 mm, 2 mm, 6 mm and 15 mm tips. The extra thin and super fat markers (0.5 mm, 30 mm and 50 mm) come in four colors.

The paint in these markers has excellent opacity, is touch dry in minutes and totally dry within 24 hours, depending on the surface. Once dry, it’s very resistant to sunlight and water. It’s odorless and xylene free.

The markers can be refilled with MTN Water Based Paint, or any other paint or ink. Their tips are also replaceable so the useful life of these tools can be extended indefinitely. You won’t have to buy another marker again and you’ll produce less waste!

The MTN Chalk Marker is a high-opacity 2 mm felt-tip chalk marker loaded with chalk paint that’s simple to erase. The paint is especially designed for temporary applications like signs, window painting or any other type of temporary decoration.

To clean the paint off, you just need a damp cloth or a jet of water. The smoother the surface you paint, the easier it will be to remove.

The MTN PRO Winter Gloves are high quality reusable technical gloves, designed for painting in extremely cold environments. The glove has a double plush lining, an outer coating of smooth latex and latex foam on the cuff. This technology guarantees extra protection in extreme temperatures and in the rain.

Super grip 250 ml

Liquid magnesium carbonate spray for sports use. Designed to dry hands for improved grip in rock climbing, indoor climbing, bouldering, weight lifting, CrossFit and any activity in which a good grip of objects or surfaces is required. Its formulation of 70% ethyl alcohol provides ultra-fast drying as well as sanitizing properties. Contains less than 1% rosin.

Shake the can for 30 seconds after you start to hear the noise of the mixer.

Keep the bottle upright and spray into the palm of one hand before spreading the product on both. Wait for a 1 minute, airing your hands, until it has dried. Repeat the operation, if necessary, to obtain the desired quantity of the product.

Once the activity is finished, it is easily removed with water. We recommend the use of hand moisturizers to counteract dryness.
