Our Homecoming started Friday night with the annual bonfire-pep rally, reigning on top of the bonfire was a western football player, but much to the pleasure of all Tech students attending he went up in glorious flame. The court was presented and Kay Lear was proclaimed Queen. Soon the Big Butte Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the coals despite many protests from students. The parade followed the next morning. It consisted of 34 unites making it Tech' s finest. Winners in the float division were First Place - Freshman Class, Second Place - Senior Class, Third Place - Junior Class and Honorable Mention went to AIME. The winners in the decorated car division were First Place - Clark Toevonon, Second Place - Cheerleaders, Third Place - Magma, and Honorable Mention - Wesley Foundation.

My being selected by the stu dent body at Montana Tech. as their Homecoming Queen, was truly an outstanding event in my life. Coming to Tech. from a small rural community in Montana was the beginning for me of many int ere sting and educational experiences and I am grateful to the teachers and my fellow students for these memorable years.

IN TRIBUTE

In recognition of their years of service, the students and especially the Senior class wish to express their appreciation for the privilege of knowing - - Mrs. Vesta Scott and Professor William Chance - - both of which will be leaving Montana Tech.

Unaware, each spectator is dependent upon the next. Each a complete individual adding to the whole, throngs of personalities that make sports as popular as they are. Unaware, to th ke n comp tition resulting when two basketball teams hav a battle, is th p ctator who motional outbursts are common and xpected by others. MINE RESCUE

FIRST AID

59

It was the night of the Big Bust. Some came to watch and some came to laugh. A contest, the largest one of its kind at Tech. , a truss bust. Everyone got busted, but only one won. Dar iel McDonald walked away with his new found toy, a tractor donated by the Caterpillar Company. Trusses were weighed to as many significant figures as Mc Caslin could see tnrough his fogged granny glasses. Then the final test-the bust, they bust d the fancy ones, the strong ones, and the simpl ones. St rrett put on a good show with his famous twister. Everyon was thinking that when it busted it would flab everyone within 10 f t. It came in last and Sterrett received an Intermediat Algebra book with thoughts that it would help in next years vent.
