3 AGENDA AT-A-GLANCE
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
GREETINGS FROM THE STATE DIRECTOR JOHN STILES State Director
Welcome to the 2022 State Career Development Conference, and Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Over 500 DECA members, advisors and corporate partners have gathered at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort for the pinnacle event of the DECA year, and we could not be more excited to spend the next three days creating new connections, engaging in challenging new adventures, and celebrating incredible achievements with each of you. DECA is an integral component of classroom instruction that helps members apply their learning and connect to business. This year, DECA encouraged you to examine your journey, and to take advantage of the limitless opportunities available to you through this organization - and you did just that! You participated in DECA’s Chapter Campaigns, created innovative new products in the DECA Idea Challenge, attended Career Pathway Conferences, earned Gold-Level Certification for your School-Based Enterprises, and conquered the competition to make it all the way to the stage at the State Career Development Conference. While the State Career Development Conference is the most anticipated event of the year, the next three days you’ll spend at Fairmont will certainly go by faster than you ever expected. Be sure to take advantage of every opportunity DECA offers you this week, such as meeting incredible corporate partners, colleges and universities, and sharing your experiences on social media using #MTDECA. Also, don’t forget to experience all of the new activities and events this year. From the Game of Life to engaging workshops, make sure to take in all that this conference has to offer. Remember, just because you’ve made it to #MTSCDC, doesn’t mean you’ve reached the end of your journey. Every new connection you make and challenge you conquer here at Fairmont will bring you one step closer to achieving your dreams. Congratulations on making it to the State Career Development Conference and get ready for an amazing experience......MAXIMIZE YOUR MOMENTUM!
WELCOME
GREETINGS FROM YOUR STATE OFFICERS Team 72 is excited to welcome you to the Montana State Career Development Conference! Being here and actively engaging yourself will allow you to Maximize Your Opportunities. That may sound cliche, but it will be what you make of it. Make a decision for you and your chapter that this conference will be the best yet. Your active participation plays a vital role in making this conference a success. Our goal is to send the most elite competitors and leadership members to the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this April. After a long and continued season of the COVID pandemic, we are excited to make lasting, positive, in-person memories with you. This conference is going to be a lot of fun and we are grateful to have you as a member of our Montana DECA family.

HEALTH+SAFETY GUIDELINES
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
CONFERENCE
Your health and safety is important! We are excited to return to an all in-person State Career Development Conference but want to ensure we promote the health and safety of all attendees. As part of our plans to host a safe event, please follow our event requirements and recommendations below to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
MASK POLICY
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort does not currently have an indoor mask requirement for groups or social gatherings. This means that masks are optional for all attendees. We encourage attendees to observe local school-district mask policies related to student travel.
IF YOU’RE SICK, STAY BACK
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 less than 10 days before or any time while attending the State Career Development Conference, do not come to scheduled events and activities. Attendees who have suspected or confirmed COVID-19 illness should contact their chapter advisor immediately.
FOLLOW TRAVEL GUIDELINES
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has guidelines for domestic travel during COVID-19 pandemic. Scan the QR code for additional information.
LIABILITY WAIVERS
There are many hand sanitizer dispensers and regular cleaning in the public space and within the meeting space of Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. To learn more about Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Policy, visit www.fairmontmontana.com.
All participants must sign and return the COVID-19 Acknowledgment and Liability Waiver during on-site conference registration.
While there are no requirements for social distancing, room setups and conference layout has been designed for additional spacing when possible. If a hotel guest contracts COVID-19, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort would require them to conduct contract tracing to determine who else may have been exposed, and will offer a quarantine plan. In consultation with local public health officials, and hotel leadership, event staff may continuously update any requirements, recommendations or protocols to promote a safe event.
Montana DECA Inc. has implemented protective measures and protocols aimed at reducing the likelihood of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) between participants and others attending this event. These measures and protocols are designed to be consistent with current guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), as well as state and local authorities. However, Montana DECA Inc. cannot guarantee that the event participants will not be exposed to COVID-19 while participating or attending its events.
