MissionStatement

MotherTeresaCatholicElementary SchoolisaprivateCatholicschool foundedinthespiritofSaintTeresaof Calcuttawherestudentsare educatedandencouragedtogrowin personalfaith.Studentsarecalledto bewitnessestoJesusChristasthey maximizetheirGod-givenspiritual, intellectual,physical,andmoral capabilities.

MotherTeresaCatholicElementarySchool(MTCES) hasalwaysprideditselfonbeingacommunityof faithwithacommitmenttoexcellence.Thisismy thirdyearasPrincipal/CEOandithasbeen amazingtohearallthedetailssurroundingthe historyofgrowthsincetheschoolopenedin1998.I amproudtobeamemberofaTeamcommitted togrowthandrespondingtotheneedsofthe MTCEScommunity.

MTCEShasexperiencedgrowingenrollmenttrends overtheyears.Asaresult,thefacilitieshavealso expanded.Wearecurrently653studentsstrong andthrivingonMotherTeresaLane Themission andvisionforCatholiceducationatthislocation, aslaidoutbytheFoundingFamilies,livesoninthe heartsofallofthoseinourMTCEScommunity.

Thegenerosityofourbenefactorsisablessingto ourcommunityandhasallowedustogrowand thriveoverthesetwenty-fiveplusyears.Wearea strongcommunityrootedinthespiritof Volunteerismandatraditionoffamilysupport.We striveto“LivetheName”eachandeveryday. Asyouhaveseenfirsthand,MTCEShasbeeninoperationfornowover 25years,andwecouldn’tbemoreexcitedaboutourcurrentstate Built onastrongdesiretobringCatholiceducationtoourlocalcommunity, thefoundingfamiliesandSisterAnneembarkedonajourneyin1998, startingMTCESinthebasementofOurLadyofSorrowsinMonroe

Fastforward25years,whowouldhavethoughtwewouldbeasblessedaswearetoday?With over72,000squarefeetofcampus,653studentsandtheabsolutebeststaffofapproximately75 employees,thevisioncontinuestoexpand Wecouldn’tbemoregrateful

Aswereflectonourannualperformance,ourschoolcontinuestoremaininaverygoodposition. Wehavebeenabletofindcreativewaystoensurewecreateanaffordableoffering:seekinglocal andfederalgrants,improvedvolunteerism,andreceivingsomegenerousdonations,allwhile maintainingtuitionrateslowerthantheotherlocalprivateschooloptions.Wearealsoveryproud oftheworkwehavebeenabletocompletetoimprovethesafetyofourstudentsandfaculty aroundthecampus.Andfinally,weareextremelyproudoftheresultswecontinuetoseeinthe classroom,withconsistentstudentgrowthdemonstratedthroughstandardizedtesting.Ourplans areworking,anditwouldn’tbepossibletoachievethiswithoutthelevelofengagementour familiesprovideonadailybasis.

TheBoardofTrusteescontinuestobeverymindfulofthevarietyofoptionsavailablewithinour community,andwesincerelyvaluethedecisionyouhavemadeforyourfamilytobeapartof theMTCEScommunity EachmemberofourBoardhaschildrenwhoattendourschool,each memberofourBoardisavolunteerwithinourcommunity,andeachmemberofourBoard participatesinannualfinancialappeals Weoperateunderthestrictguidelinesof“HeadsIn, HandsOut”toensurethestaffatMTCEShasthepropersupportneeded Alloftheseactions, hopefullyyouwillfind,underscoretheconfidencewehaveintheschoolfortoday,andwellinto thefuture.

Inclosing,thereissomuchtobeproudofafterthisyear,butletusnotforgetthatitrequiresour successfulhandlingofuniqueresponsibilitiesasanindependentschool.Weenjoyaclose relationshipwiththeArchdioceseofCincinnatiandtheLakotaLocalSchoolDistrict,butweare almostentirelyself-reliantwhenitcomestofundinganddailyoperationofourschool.Our continuedsuccessisduetothesacrificeofeveryoneinourcommunity–faculty,staff, administration,parents,familiesandsupporters.Thankyou!

Eachdayourteamofdedicatedprofessionalsis challengedtomeettheneedsofthestudentswhofillour classrooms.Througharigorous,differentiatedcurriculum designedtosupportlearnersatalllevels,ourclassroom teachersbolsterstudentgrowthacrossthecurriculum. NURTURINGFAITH

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Campus Minister at MTCES. The students,staff,administrationandparentsthatmakeupthisvibrantcommunityare someofthebestIhaveworkedwithinmy40yearsofministry.Itiswonderfultobea partofaschoolculturethatissodedicatedtoincorporatingourCatholicfaithinto thedailylivesofstudents

Faith formation is weaved into our student’s daily routines in a number of ways; including morning prayer with weekly scripture quotes, bi-weekly all school Mass, HolyDaysofObligation,religionclassforallgrades,andReconciliationforgrades38duringLent

Wearealsoincrediblyblessedtohaveadedicatedworshipspaceinourschool The St.TeresaofCalcuttaChapelisusedfrequentlyforeducationalpurposesthatfoster faith formation. The entire student body participates in Eucharistic Adoration once each trimester Each time we conclude the Exposition of the Eucharist with Benediction. The Chapel is also visited heavily during Lent by all of our students to praytheStationsoftheCross.TheChapelalsoaidsinhelpingstudentslearnabout thesymbolicmeaningbehindthevarioussacredobjectsfoundinside

A Momentous Year For MTCES

Tomarkthemilestoneofour25thanniversary,the MTCEScommunitygatheredtogetherforaspecial MassatOurLadyofSorrowsChurch,theveryplace whereourschool’sjourneybegan.

Aswecelebratedour25thanniversary,wehonored thelegacyofthosewhohavebeenpartofour journey,fromstudentsandteachersto administratorsandalumni.Itwasatimetoreflect onallMTCEShas accomplishedthroughtheyears.

Fromhumblebeginningstobecomingathrivingschoolof653students,thepast25years havebeenajourneyofcontinuousgrowth.Acommitmenttoprovidinghigh-quality education,nurturingcreativity,andspiritualgrowthhasbeenatthecoreofourmission. Alongtheway,MTCEShashelpedshapethefuturesofthousandsofstudents,andbuilta communitythatthrivesoncollaboration,innovation,andinclusivity.

Our25thanniversaryisatestamenttothevision,faith,andhardworkofourfounding familiesandfoundingPrincipal,SisterAnne Ourmissionremainsthesametoday—to provideanoutstandingCatholiceducationthatisrootedinfaith,academicexcellence,and communityservice. Aswereflectonthepast,celebratethepresent,andlooktowardthe future,weareremindedoftheincrediblejourneythathasshapedMTCESintothethriving communityitistoday.

Phase III Opened: 16,400

FollowinginthefootstepsofSt.Teresaof Calcutta,studentsatMTCES“Livethe Name”byparticipatinginvariousoutreach programs.Pastoutreachprogramshave supported:HawthorneGlen,Sistersofthe BlessedSacrament’sSchooland OrphanageinHaiti,ReachOutLakota,and Matthew25Ministries,justtonameafew. Inadditiontotheabove-mentioned charities,theMTCESStudentCouncil choosesorganizationstosupporteach monthandholdsfundraiserstosupport thosecauses

Studentshavenumerousopportunitiesto engageincommunityserviceandmakea positiveimpact Someoftheprograms availableinclude;RandomActsof Kindness(RAK)Clubforthirdandfourth graders,fifthandsixthgradeServiceClub, CubScouts,andAmericanHeritageGirls.

Aspartoftheeighth-gradecurriculum, studentsengageinMagnifiedGiving. Throughthisprogram,studentsexplore philanthropy,service,socialcauses,and communitynonprofits,ultimatelygranting atleast$1,000tothreedifferentnonprofits.

NEWMEASURESANDSAFETYRESOURCES

MTCEShasconsistentlyfocusedonevaluatingandenhancingthesafety andwell-beingofitsstudentsandstaff.Inrecentyears,theschoolhas allocatedresourcestowardimprovingsecuritymeasures.Duringthe20232024schoolyear,MTCESappliedforandwassuccessfullyawardedaNonprofitSecurityGrantsponsoredbytheOhioDepartmentofEmergency ManagementAgency(OhioEMA) Outofmanyapplicants,MTCESwasone ofonlyninetyrecipients Thisgrantwillbeusedtoinstallelectromechanical doorsatsixlocationsthroughoutthebuilding,aswellashelpfundthe positionofaSchoolResourceOfficeratMTCES

BeginninginFebruary,2023DeputyHoctorbecameanintegralpartofour schoolcommunity,ensuringasecureenvironmentforlearning,supporting ourstudents,andfosteringpositiverelationshipswitheveryone. Havingafull-timeSROallowsustobetterfocusonproactivesafety measures,provideguidance,andbeanaccessibleresourcefor studentsandfamilies.

Eachspring,onestudentfromeachhomeroomingrades4-8 isselectedtoreceivetheMotherTeresaAwardforexemplifying thecharacteristicsofournamesake,MotherTeresa.
