The present dire times notwithstanding, the year 2022 also gives Poland and Canada cause for celebration. Eighty years ago, on 27 March 1942, Poland’s then Consulate General in Ottawa was officially raised to the status of legation, and by that act Ambassador Wiktor Podoski was able to lay the foundation for several subsequent decades of successful and effective Polish-Canadian relations.
