100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard southeast of Montalcino on galestro soils covered with stones, particularly onyx – the name Pietradonice (onyx stone) derives from the site’s former life as an onyx quarry. Fermentation and maceration for 18 days, aging for 18 months in oak barrel and 6 months in bottle. 94 Points – Wine Advocate “The Casanova di Neri 2020 Pietradonice holds an immense bouquet with generous cherry and dark fruit that shows a nicely ripened phase without feeling overtly mature. There is a sweet note that recalls high-end raspberry jelly, exotic spice, perfumed redwood, cypress and black olive. There is definitely no varietal greenness, and the wine delivers a firm and compact build that covers the whole palate. With 18 months in barrique.”

Casanova di Neri’s flagship wine made from 100% Sangiovese, a blend of the best grapes from Collalli, Fiesole and Poder Nuovo vineyards, situated between 900 and 1600 ft on soils of clay in the lowest vineyards, galestro in the highest. Fermentation and maceration for 23 days, aging for 43 months in oak barrels and 6 months in bottle. 95 Points – Wine Advocate “The Casanova di Neri 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows thick fruit fabric with stitchings of underbrush, pressed rose, bright cherry, tobacco and balanced oak spice. This wine definitely has a special groove. It offers a ripe, round texture with good acidity followed by fine, chalky tannins. This is impressive quality for 109,600 bottles produced. In fact, this is one of the best village Brunellos from Giacomo Neri and his family made so far.”

Tenuta Nuova – the “new estate” - is made from 100% Sangiovese grown on Le Cetine vineyard in the Mediterranean influenced, southern region of Montalcino on galestro with tuff and clay. Fermented and macerated for 24 days, aged for 35 months in barrel and 15 months in bottle. 97 Points – Wine Advocate “In my mind, this is the wine that best represents the Casanova di Neri house style. With 30 months of aging in tonneaux, it shows enormous richness and texture, and the stellar fruit quality appears with more primary elegance compared to the more expensive Cerretalto that is released with an extra year of aging. That dynamic is especially pronounced in a comparison of the 2019 and 2018 vintages. The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova has a dark vein of toasted spice, black fruit, ink, blackberry compote, licorice and star anise. Dark as night, it is exceptionally well crafted with a robust delivery of concentrated fruit and solid tannic structure. You can count on excellent cellar potential, or at a minimum, serve it with a classic steak.” 96 Points – James Suckling “Black cherries with violets and other flowers on the nose. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Needs time to soften. Give it three to five years of bottle age. Better after 2025.” SKU

Celebrating the founders legacy, made from 100% Sangiovese on the stony, clay and limestone soils of the Giovanni Neri vineyard in southern Montalcino. Fermentation and maceration with 20% whole clusters for 29 days, aging for 30 months in oak barrels and 22 months in bottle. 100 Points, #3 Top Wines of Italy 2023, #7 Top Wines of the World 2023 – James Suckling “Cherry, flower and cedar aromas follow through to a full body with lots of pure and juicy fruit character. Creamy and savory with a crushed bean and cherry aftertaste. Defining today’s Brunello with purity and perfection of fruit. Making the most of an outstanding vintage. A selection from a seven-hectare parcel of 50-year-old vines. Drink after 2026.” SKU

From 100% Sangiovese grown on the Cerretalto vineyard, near the Asso River in eastern Montalcino, on rare galestro soils with alluvial deposits and a high concentration of iron and magnesium. Fermentation and maceration for 32 days, aging for 36 months in oak barrels and 24 months in bottle. 96 Points – Wine Advocate “Showing dried blackberry, balsam herb, vapor rub and a hint of charred chili spice, this wine offers an aromatic profile that is very much in line with a vintage that saw cool spring temperatures and a hot summer. The Casanova di Neri 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto is a wine of depth, dusty tannins and a slightly evolved fruit character. I tasted this 2018 Cerretalto next to the estate’s new releases from 2019, and the latter vintage certainly offers more overall clarity and crunch. The Neri family does great work with tannin management, and although there is some chalkiness here, the wine’s structure is expertly folded into the fruit concentration.” In 1971, just a few years after the Brunello di Montalcino appellation was created, Giovanni Neri, a 48-year-old grain and seed merchant from Montevarchi in the Arno valley south of Florence, set out for Montalcino to fulfill his passion for wine by establishing an estate there. Among the many properties for sale he chose Poderi Casanova, which covered 200 hectares east of the city, recognizing its potential to produce great Brunello thanks to the altitude and soil composition. He changed its name to Casanova di Neri and began to restore the existing vineyards and plant new ones. The first wines were produced in the late 1970s. In 1981 Giovanni Neri purchased the Cerretalto vineyard and began producing this, now legendary, single vineyard Brunello, bottled only from the finest vintages and released after extended aging. Giovanni Neri’s son Giacomo joined him working full time in the vineyards and winery in 1986. After Giovanni’s passing in 1991, Giacomo became the sole owner and has since acquired five additional vineyards and built an innovative, largely underground, gravity fed winery. His sons Giovanni and Gianlorenzo joined the business in 2012 and 2017 respectively. They harvest and sort their fruit meticulously by hand and ferment their wines naturally in open, truncated cone vats of steel and wood at controlled temperature. Aging takes place in wood casks of various origin, age and size, and additionally in bottle. Over the past three decades, the wines of Casanova di Neri have earned the highest praise and admiration from press, trade and connoisseurs throughout the world. www.ethicawines.com
