Senior Goodbyes

Date: May 17, 2025

Being a part of The Wichitan has meant everything to me. My first two years I was nervous to get involved with the paper, but after hearing about the friendships and the culture there, I decided to go to a meeting to see what it was about. From there the rest is history.

Without The Wichitan, I would not be where I am. I would also not have half the friendships that I have now.

For those of you who are hesitant to join, take a chance and just do it. You

don’t want to be left wondering what could have been.

For the people I worked with at The Wichitan I could not be more thankful for y’all and then encouragement and support yall have given me. I will cherish our memories forever. Thank you!

DEATHERAGE OUTGOING REPORTER

My time at The Wichitan has been a gratifying and exciting experience. I have only been here for two semesters, but I wish I had joined sooner. Being involved in The Wichitan gave me a chance to find something that I would do as a career and I am thankful for them opening my eyes into something I am passionate about. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with them and the insights they have given me. Without a doubt, my favorite story has to be the one I wrote about student safety. Working for The Wichitan as Design Editor has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time on campus.

From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a warm and supportive environment where I never felt out of place.

Being part of such a friendly and hard-working team was not only inspiring, but also deeply motivating as I look toward my future. Contributing to the newspaper allowed me to give back to my

A LETTER FROM THE INCOMING EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

We here at The Wichitan are incredibly grateful for all of our peers who have worked and collaborated with us. I am grateful for our incredible editor-in-chief and am honored to take on the position after her.

I am also grateful for all of the incredible writers, reporters and content creators I have worked with.

Without the hard work of students, this paper would not be possible. I think it is safe to say that we are incredibly excited to see what next semester brings for those of us continuing our education here at MSU. But for those who will be continuing their journey else where, we at The Wichitan wish you the best of luck!
