The Wichitan bids farewell to reporter

Ithoroughly enjoyed my time at The Wichitan and am glad I was able to be a part of a group of some of the most dedicated students I have ever met.

I will never forget the experiences and opportunities this group has led me to.

I am grateful for everyone involved that helped me with anything I needed and I look forward to seeing everyone's bright future at MSU and beyond.

THE WICHITAN STAFF

Roger Taylor has been writing and photographing with The Wichitan for over a year.

Some of his notable stories were " Sip N’ Science: Bubbles, Beakers and Brews" and " Options for food insecure students."

As part of the Mass Communication fall 2025 graduating class, Taylor's senior capstone was a 15 minute documentary. "Out of Ink," was a senior documentary focused on the journalistic world.

Taylor produced this documentary alongside his peers Molly Bierra and Cy Whitson.

We at The Wichitan wish Taylor, and every graduating mass communication student, the best of luck!

Letter from the Editor | Reflection

This semester has been challenging for everyone. From senate bills barring transgender students from using their preferred bathrooms, to ICE raids happening all over the US, to a government shutdown that cut the SNAP bennefits of millions of people.

However, for every disaster that has happened in the US, it has been met by force from the people. We saw this in a sweeping blue wave that impacted dozens of areas and in the millions of people who showed up to protests.

But we also saw this in our own students on campus. We saw this in the ways you collaborated and came together to create moments of joy on campus. From the Diwali celebration, to PRIDE's Transgender Day of Resistance, to National Transfer Student Week:

these events remind students that not only are they not alone, but they are welcomed and safe on our campus.

It is important to remember that even in our darkest times, there is hope. And my hope, as the editor-in-chief, is to not only keep you informed about what the tragedy as well as inform you about the real efforts people are making in order to fight back. If nothing else, that was my goal for this past semester, and it will continue to be my goal in the spring.

I want to thank you all for reading. Without your support, there would be no paper. And I want to thank the amazing staff members who have joined our team. They have made it possible to not only publish this semester, but to excel every single issue.

Though I may be the editor, there is no paper without the work of the writers and photographers. I am truly grateful to work with a team that is so unbelievably passionate about what they do. And I am so excited to see what they are able to do next semester.
