As another academic year at MSU Billings is behind us, I want to take a moment to share my sincere thanks for everything you help make possible. Your support over the past year enabled the MSU Billings Foundation & Alumni to raise more than $5 million, a milestone that speaks volumes about your commitment to our students and their futures.
One of the real highlights of the year was our 33rd annual Wine & Food Festival. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our alumni, friends, and local businesses, we raised over $730,000 for scholarships. This event is such a powerful reminder of what our community can achieve when we come together for a shared purpose.
We all know that scholarships do more than reduce financial strain. They offer encouragement, build confidence, and help students stay focused on their academic journey. For many, it’s the difference between being able to attend MSUB or not. Your generosity makes it possible for them to take that first step and keep going all the way to graduation.
Looking ahead to the new academic year, there’s still important work to do. Many students continue to face financial barriers that can stand between them and a college degree. With your continued support, we can help close those gaps and ensure every student has the chance to succeed.
Your belief in MSUB and our mission truly makes all the difference. Together, we’re building a stronger university and a brighter future for our region—one student at a time.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I hope this summer brings you rest, joy, and time with the people and places that mean the most to you.
With gratitude,

From the baseball field to the classroom, Dominick’s journey is one of grit, growth, and perseverance. A standout student-athlete at MSU Billings, he’s now pursuing his dream of becoming a physical therapist—carrying with him the lessons learned both on and off the field
Originally from San Diego, Dominick Buso came to MSU Billings to play baseball—but found so much more.
“Baseball was what brought me here,” he said, “but MSUB ended up giving me so much more.”
He earned a degree in Health and Human Performance and was inspired by professors like Dr. Stuart Snyder, Dr. Alex Shafer, and Dr. Jeffrey Willardson, with whom he co-published his senior thesis in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
Now pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the
University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Dominick is set to graduate in August 2026. He begins his first clinical rotation this summer at a skilled nursing facility in San Diego, marking a major step in his journey as a healthcare professional.
A former recipient of both academic and athletic scholarships, Dominick was also honored as Breakout Player of the Year at the Buzzies. His goal is to work with athletes, combining his background in sports with his passion for helping others recover and thrive.

Our signature Wine & Food Festival once again brought the community together for a celebration of generosity, fine flavors, and student support. This year’s event broke records—raising more than $730,000 and surpassing last year’s total thanks to the incredible commitment of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
From lively auctions to expertly curated dinners and tastings, every element of the festival reflected the spirit of giving that defines Yellowjacket Nation. Proceeds from the event directly support student scholarships, making it possible for more students to pursue a college education without overwhelming financial barriers.
“Watching our community rally behind our students and MSUB’s mission was truly inspiring,” said Lisa McKinney, Special Events Coordinator for the MSUB Foundation & Alumni. “Every bid, every bottle shared, and every volunteer hour came together to create life-changing scholarships.”
Now in its 33rd year, the Wine & Food Festival remains a treasured tradition. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make it such a success—and excited for the opportunities this will create for MSUB students in the year ahead.

Jerry and Wanda Anderson have been longtime friends and generous supporters of MSU Billings, with a legacy of giving that continues to open doors for students across campus.
Jerry, a proud member of the Class of 1977, built a successful career in finance after graduating from MSUB and has remained deeply connected to the university that helped shape his future. Together with Wanda, the Andersons have supported a wide range of programs—always with students at the heart of their philanthropy.
Their generosity includes scholarships for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, reflecting their shared passion for athletics and student success. Thanks to their support, countless student-athletes have been able to pursue their dreams—on the court and in the classroom.

In addition to athletics, Jerry and Wanda have contributed to the Lynn Eggebrecht – Zonta Club of Billings Determination Scholarship Endowment. This special fund honors the memory of Lynn Eggebrecht, Jerry’s longtime assistant, trusted colleague, and dear friend. A dedicated MSUB graduate and longtime member of Zonta, Lynn was known for her professionalism, resilience, and commitment to helping others.

Jerry helped initiate the scholarship in partnership with the Zonta Club of Billings as a way to celebrate Lynn’s legacy. Contributions came from friends, colleagues, and Zonta members, with the shared goal of creating a lasting tribute that empowers students—especially women— who demonstrate grit and determination in the face of adversity. He hopes Lynn’s story might inspire others to recognize the people who’ve made a difference in their lives by establishing scholarships of their own.
