Who is M State? M State is the ifth-largest college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System and the largest in Greater Minnesota, serving 9,000 students each year. But don’t be fooled by our size. At M State, you’ll ind the best of both worlds: Big-college resources and a small-college feel with personalized instruction and four welcoming campuses and our online eCampus. We’re a two-year college with more than 70 career and technical programs and a university transfer degree program that will prepare you for transfer to a four-year university. Our campuses are located in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena, and we also offer an impressive online curriculum through our eCampus.

Detroit Lakes, with 412 lakes within 25 miles, oďŹ€ers some of Minnesotaâ€™s premiere outdoor recrea on opportuni es with fishing, boa ng, water sports, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling and hun ng. Each August, the WE Fest country music fes val draws hundreds of thousands to the area. The community, popula on 8,600, has a vibrant downtown district and is less than an hour away from the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area.
Fergus Falls is a city of 14,000 in west central Minnesota, less than three hours from the Twin Ci es and an hour from the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. It is home to an ac ve arts community, with venues for theater, concerts, independent films and rota ng art exhibits.
