Five simple steps to leaving

1.

Talk to a Solicitor or Trustee Company

The first step to leaving a gift in your Will is to get in touch with a Solicitor or Trustee Company offering a Will-writing service. You may already have one.

Simply give them this booklet or the included “postcard for your Solicitor” at your next visit and let them know you’d like to include MS Plus in your Will.

Some Will-writing services will be online. The information they will request will be similar to that detailed below.

Decide on the kind of gift you are going to give

Some people give money, some people give valuable items, some people give a percentage of their estate, and some even give everything that is left after their loved ones have been taken care of.

Here is some wording to copy to make this easy for you:

I, (insert your full name), would like to leave a gift in my Will to MS Plus Ltd, ABN: 66 004 942 287 of 54 Railway Road, Blackburn VIC 3130:

I give the residue of my entire estate after loved ones have been taken care of

I give % (the desired percentage) of my estate

I give (name a specific item of value)

I give $ (the desired amount)

3.

Describe how you would like your gift to be used

Your gift will help fund services and vital research to achieve our goal of a world without the effects of MS so that the funds can go where they’re needed most.

For maximum impact, it’s best that you leave your gift for MS Plus’ unrestricted use. This means that we can apply your gift to where it is most needed at the time of it being received. So that we can thank you properly and make sure that your final wishes are properly upheld, please talk to us about your plans.

Other things for you to consider

To make sure your gift goes through exactly as you’d like, we recommend that you discuss the way in which you would like to leave a gift to MS Plus with your Solicitor, Trustee Company or with the Gift in Wills Team here.

We also recommend that you take the time to discuss your intentions and plans with your family, friends and loved ones. It’s important that they understand your final plans and wishes.

A Will is a vital document that means your final wishes will be fulfilled in the exact ways you ask.

It reflects your values, beliefs and what matters most to you. It will make sure your loved ones are cared for.

And with a gift in your Will to MS Plus, it will make sure that you’re fast-tracking a cure for multiple sclerosis, and providing care until we’re there.

Even 1% or 2% of what is left after gifts to family and friends can make a huge difference. It costs nothing now, but changes so many lives into the future.

Thank you for fast-tracking a cure for multiple sclerosis, and providing care until we’re there. Your friendly Gift in Wills team is here to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
