Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
To further support MSOE’s commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, the university developed a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategic Plan.
MSOE believes that communities are greater when everyone is invited to the table. As a collective, the Faculty and Staff Diversity Council put thoughts into words, words into action, and action into change. The strategic plan outlines goals and action items to provide a pathway to achieve its goals. The plan is consistent with the university-wide strategic plan.

Through the voices of multiple MSOE stakeholders, and in alignment with and supporting the current strategic goals for the university, five major goals were created to support efforts to realize the promise of an inclusive learning environment:
• Enhance the effectiveness of educational programs and culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Enhance services and practices that support an inclusive organizational culture.
• Actively work to eliminate disparities within enrollment, retention and graduation rates.
• Ensure staff and faculty reflect the composition of available talent in all areas.
• Foster and sustain a welcoming feeling of belonging for all internal and external stakeholders.
To stay accountable, MSOE will update its progress in a DEIB Annual Progress Report, which will be shared with the campus community in the fall.
