DESCRIZIONE: La Conchiglia Regina è un’imponente chiocciola marina che può vivere per oltre 30 anni, impiegandone circa 5 per raggiungere la maturità riproduttiva. Nel delicato equilibrio dell’ecosistema marino, svolge un ruolo fondamentale all’interno del “team di pulizia”, contribuendo alla rimozione di detriti e materie organiche dal fondale. Alle Bahamas, questa specie è una preziosa fonte di proteine nella dieta quotidiana e, grazie al suo profondo valore culturale, è raffigurata persino nello stemma nazionale!

Im Ökosystem ist sie ein wichtiger Teil des „Reinigungsteams“, da sie Detritus und andere organische Stoffe vom Meeresboden entfernt. Auf den Bahamas gilt sie als wichtige Eiweißquelle und ist so kulturell bedeutend, dass sie sogar im Wappen der Bahamas abgebildet ist!
