Dan Educate was born and raised in Chicago’s inner city. His family moved to the lower eastside of New York where he attended high school. Upon graduation, Dan was scouted by several major league baseball teams resulting in tryouts in the famous Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York, The Polo Grounds, and Yankee Stadium in New York City. However, it was the Cleveland Indians organization that he signed with, where he played for a couple of years.

When his family returned to Chicago, Dan married and secured employment with the Chicago Police Department. They recognized his excellent communication skills and promoted him to the position of Safety Officer, which consisted of giving safety speeches to civic groups, high schools and broadcasting traffic reports on WGN Radio.

During his stay with the Chicago Police Department, he was also able to sell insurance part-time; and he soon discovered that the insurance industry could reward his desire to serve people, while giving secured income and benefits (as the police department did) to support his growing family of seven. In 1965 he became a full-time agent for State Farm Insurance.

Fifty years later Dan states “State Farm was and still is the most respected name in the Insurance Industry and is listed in the Fortune 500. They have become: the world’s largest car insurer, the largest insurer of homes in the USA, the safest-rated major life insurance company, the best claims paying ability – as reported by J.D Power”.

Senior Pastor Andrew D. Singleton, Jr. Victory Apostolic Church Andrew D. Singleton, Jr. is a devoted family man, a servant of God, and he loves and ministers to the people of God. Senior Pastor Singleton was saved in 1978 at the Apostolic Church of God (ACOG) in Chicago under the leadership of the late Bishop Arthur M. Brazier, whose son Dr. Byron T. Brazier is now pastor and carrying on his father’s legacy.

Pastor Singleton was ordained in 1989 and later felt the leading of God to start a church in Chicago’s southern suburbs. In obedience to that call, Victory Apostolic Church (VAC) was began in August 1996 with 12 members. The church experienced such an enormous growth in Chicago Heights, IL, that in February 2009 they were able to move to their current location, a $20 million dollar, 2,500 seat sanctuary in Matteson, IL. In 19 years, God has blessed Victory to grow to several thousand members with over 60 ministries. Additionally, he is the chairperson of the Victory Association, whose mission is to transform churches by training church leaders. Pastors and leaders from 20 churches participate in an annual conference.

Pastor Singleton holds a B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, he is also a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.

He has also taken classes for five years at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and is a 2002 graduate of the Master of Divinity program at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. He was Controller and Finance Vice President of several community-based social service agencies in the Chicagoland area. He has worked not only in Chicago but throughout the south suburbs.

Pastor Singleton has served his community as the first Chairman of the Vanderpoel Elementary Local School Council, along with being listed in Sterling’s Who’s Who Directory Executive Edition. He is a member of the South Suburban PADS Board, an organization that provides food, shelter and employment to the homeless. Pastor Singleton is also the chairperson of the South Suburban Community Development Corporation (SSCDC), which has trained over 200 young men and women in the construction trade.

Pastor Singleton is the founder and chairperson for “A Taste of Victory” (ATOV) which is an annual event held in Matteson, where over 500 medical screenings are performed for youth and adults. ATOV promotes over 50 small businesses in a festive environment.

Pastor Singleton was honored in August 2015 to receive the Spiritual Leader of the Year Award from the Matteson Business Association. He works closely with the local political leaders to improve the southern suburbs of Chicago.

But most of all, Senior Pastor Andrew D. Singleton, Jr., loves and cherishes his wife of 41 years, Brenda; their three children Takara, Karena, and Andrew III, all of whom are saved, serve in the church and have completed their college degrees. He and his wife are proud grandparents to their granddaughters, Brianna and Ava; and grandsons, William, Blake, and Justin.

Pastor Ruby Lee Morris Founder of New Direction Empowerment Academy Ruby Lee Morris always had a gift of discernment and the spirit of helping individuals thrive despite their many obstacles. Facing several life changing challenges with faith, she has vowed to live a life of transparency while winning souls to Christ and improving the community at large.

Minister Morris inspires youth, men and women to boldly fulfill their destiny by cultivating healthy relationships with God, people in the community and themselves.. She challenges them to resolve past issues, confront conflict, build self confidence, set boundaries and positive expectations, and engage in honest and effective communication.

On June 10, 2010 she graduated with Honors under the tutorial ship of Apostle Denise Clark with a Baccalaureate in Theology. She is continuing her theological studies in pursuit of a Masters Degree. Pastor Morris has a book being published entitled: "Shattered Moving from Tragedy to Destiny."

Grace the Beauty Ministries honored her on April 2, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. Recently, Mayor Eric Kellogg of Harvey Illinois recognized her for her dedicated support of the community.

Following her vision she established two non-profit organizations and an academy "New Direction Empowerment Ministry" which was incorporated on January 14, 2012. In October 2013 New Direction Empowerment Academy was incorporated. Pastor Morris has fed many people in Harvey and in the Englewood community in Chicago. Her after school program is feeding 250 per day in Harvey.

Ruby’s passion for economic development and Housing Empowerment has led her to develop a housing agency.

She has been recently selected to sit on the board of Chicago Baptist Institute International as the Chairman of Recruitment to the President. The President of Chicago Baptist Institute International is President Dr. John Gray.

Darwin K. Yarborough Financial Advisor for Waddell & Reed Darwin K. Yarborough graduated from Englewood High School, Chicago, Illinois and Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD. After graduating from Morgan State University, he entered the field of financial service, where he remains.

In September, 1978, Darwin started as a registered finance representative for Waddell & Reed. He has obtained numerous licenses in the field of financial services. In 1983, Darwin became a Waddell & Reed District Manager. He remained in this position until 1986 when he was promoted to Division Manager in Park Forest, IL. From 1986 to 1988, Darwin led the Park Forest office from #161 to #61 in the Company’s ranking by 1988.

In 1989, Darwin was assigned to manage the Chicago Division office, replacing his mentor and friend in the financial planning business, Mr. Latrice Coleman. During 1990 and 1991, he led the Chicago office to the #1 ranking within Waddell & Reed. Darwin was responsible for managing forty-four advisors generating in excess of $1 Billion in investment assets.

From 1989 to 2002, Mr. Yarborough broadcasted every Monday on V-103 and 102.7 FM, giving financial planning and investment advice to the public. He has also been a guest on local Chicago television stations.

In 2006, Darwin retired from management of Waddell & Reed, but remains a financial advisor. Currently, he mentors and assists numerous clients, advisors, businesses and church groups on financial issues and developments.

Darwin attributes much of his success to studying successful businessmen and mentors such as Latrice Coleman, Jim Rohn, Paul Robeson and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Much of Darwin’s success is also attributed to studying and following success and financial principles found in Biblical scriptures.

Darwin is father to five sons. He also active within his church and the church finance ministry.

Dr. Conrad Walter Worrill Internationally Acclaimed Scholar, Educator, Organizer And Activist Dr. Conrad Walter Worrill, internationally acclaimed scholar, educator, organizer, and activist, was appointed director of the Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies of Northeastern Illinois University in 2004. In this position, he also serves as a full professor in the academic program of Inner City Studies Education. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in political history and social theory and has been a member of the CCICS faculty since 1976.

For over five decades, his activism has been defined by his leadership in organizations and activities that have been in the forefront of the struggle for racial and social justice, African-centered education, African liberation, and self-determination for people of African descent. As Chairman of the National Black United Front, Special Consultant of Field Operations for the Million Man March, a lifetime member of the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N`COBRA), or a street organizer for Harold Washington’s mayoral campaign, he has advanced causes such as educational restructuring, human rights, reparations, and political empowerment for the Black community.

As Chairman of NBUF, Dr. Worrill has led the campaign charging the United States Government with genocide and numerous human rights violations. Accompanied by a delegation, he traveled to Geneva, Switzerland on May 18, 1997 and presented to the Commission On Human Rights the Preliminary Indictment / Complaint and 157, 000 signatures on the Petition/Declaration. Upon his return from Geneva, Dr. Worrill and the delegation visited the United Nations in New York to present thousands of signatures from the petitions of the “Declaration of Genocide by the United States Government Against the Black Population in the United States.” These petitions were circulated and signed, by African people in every corner of the world.

In this regard, with the assistance of Dr. Worrill’s leadership, NBUF and the December 12th Movement International Secretariat organized the Durban 400 delegation that participated in the historic United Nations World Conference Against Racism (WCAR) that was held in Durban, South Africa from August 31 through September 7, 2001. The Durban 400 succeeded in impacting the WCAR to declare, “…slavery and the slave trade are a crime against humanity.” The issue of reparations for Africa and African people in the Diaspora continues to be a main organizing focus of the work of Dr. Worrill and NBUF. Under Dr. Worrill’s leadership, NBUF was one of the major organizers of the historic Millions for Reparations Mass Rally, held in Washington, D.C. on August 17, 2002. More than 50,000 people African people from throughout the United States gathered and millions of others viewed on television our historic demand for reparations from the United States Government. In 2009, Dr. Worrill became Chairman Emeritus of NBUF paving the way for younger activists to provide leadership.

Dr. Worrill’s weekly column, Worrill’s World, continues to be a powerful voice for social change. His life’s work demonstrates his commitment to doing what proverbial African wisdom characterizes as “Good Speech”— “speaking truly and doing right.

Darrell Z. Qualls - President Chicago Area Autopsy Servcies Inc The death of a family member is always a distressing time. This is equally so whether death is sudden and unexpected, or whether it was a slow and painful event. Family members are frequently at a loss as to the cause and the circumstances of the death. Many of these deaths occur outside of the hospital, perhaps at home or at a nursing home. While the Medical Examiner’s Office occasionally assumes jurisdiction in non-traumatic cases, the Office does not have the manpower to evaluate all of these deaths. Hospital pathologists are often reluctant to perform autopsies on individuals who die in that hospital’s emergency room, or who die at home or at a nursing home if the deceased was not previously a patient at their particular hospital, or if their family physician is not on that hospital’s staff. Family members who sought answers as to the cause of death have had no one to whom to turn.

Our goal is to perform a quality, academically-based autopsy that will inventory all of the pathologic findings which existed at the time of death, and will determine why the deceased died and why they died at that particular point in time. Our findings and report will be completely objective.

Our task is to answer questions regarding the cause of death and the circumstances which led up to the death, rather than to critique the quality or appropriateness of the medical care rendered to the deceased.
