Ellie and the Magical Bakery

Ellie and the Magical Bakery.

A story written collaboratively by the students of Canal View Primary School during the 2020 Covid-19 Lockdown.

Once upon a time there was a girl called Ellie.

She was walking along the street and saw a bakery.

It was not just any bakery, it was a magical bakery!

Ellie went inside.

Behind the counter was the baker, her fiancĂŠe and beside the counter was their French bulldog Nala.

On the counter, amongst the beautiful cakes Ellie could see that there were tiny fairies!

The fairies were sprinkling magic dust on the cakes.

The baker handed Ellie one of the cakes.

She ate the cake and it was delicious.

As soon as she started to eat it Ellie realised that she had started to shrink! Soon she was the same size as the little fairies.

The fairies introduced themselves.

They were called Giselle and Tia. Ellie was feeling scared and overwhelmed but the fairies reassured her.

“I wish I had wings” said Ellie.

“We can totally make that happen” said Tia. “We need to make another magic cake.” said Giselle, ”Let’s go and find the ingredients – we can ride on Nala!”

Giselle and Ellie worked together to collect the things that they needed.

They collected: a rainbow caterpillar a tulip petal a lock of unicorn hair and a drop of water from the burn in the magical forest.

Ellie and the fairies went through the woods collecting magical ingredients to make a magical cake.

When they had everything they needed they carried on through the forest to find the wizard.

Ellie, the fairies and Buddy-Roy Starbar the Stripy Wizard mixed together all the ingredients in BuddyRoy’s cauldron. There was a bang and a puff of smoke and Buddy-Roy raised his wand. As the want went up the magical cake rose from the cauldron.

Ellie stepped forward and ate the cake.

Buddy-Roy Starbar was pretty proud of himself. He said…

“I am good but sometimes my spells don’t last so long. The spell can only continue if you keep eating loads and loads of magical cakes!”

Ellie was pretty excited about this. “I get to be a fairy AND I get to eat lots of cakes!� she cried.

Almost as soon as she ate the cake Ellie started to sparkle!

In a few seconds she had her very own wings.
