Gone are the days when coming up through the ranks Barrie was experiencing the wet wintry days stuck in a trench hand-digging foundations, with the water running down his back, & days upon days of jack-hammering concrete slabs, hoping that the ganger man would notice what a good job he was doing. Barrie potential was noticed, & it was not to long before he was the ganger man, then after years of learning the business from the ground up, Barrie was promoted again to contracts manager.

BARRIE LEADS THE TEAM!

Barrie Rossiter who joined the company in 2006 as a site labourer, has just become the new MD of Lenmark Construction Ltd.

Barrie couldn’t have dreamt those 17 years ago when he started on a site at Haywards Heath that one day he would be running the show, but through his energy, drive, & ambition he has done just that.

LONG SERVICE AWARDS

It was a real pleasure for Barrie Rossiter, our Construction Director to present a long service watch to Joe” The Tipperary lion” O’Dwyer. Joe who joined the company back in early 1992, has completed many successful sites for the company as a Site Foreman, his hard work, loyalty, and diligence are the cornerstones of great employees and Joe has these assets in abundance. Also completing 30 years’ service with the company this last year are Richard Webster, Patsy Scullion, Micky Crowe, & Zoe Nugent, this shows the great strength in depth that we have here at Lenmark with many other great people working within the business for the last 10, 15, or 20 years, our staff turnover is very low, we believe because everyone feels valued & respected, we also create opportunities for career advancement within the business & a attitude of open communication which everyone appreciates.

Over hundreds of sites across London & the southeast, Barrie has gained the experience & the man management skills he is known for & has built up many teams into a loyal & dedicated workforce that we have in Lenmark today, a very firm believer in training, he encourages & inspires all the guys around him to push themselves, just as he did.

We now all look forward to Barrie leading us to the next level.

Thank you, Andy.

Andy (Mr Dependable) Nye, the unsung hero who through the years with Lenmark is always willing to help everyone, give advice, & is one of the backbones of the business.

In this last year Andy has been ecouraging & training our new apprentice site engineers Harry Radley & Ammar Nasir.

Andy has been teaching the guys how to use & operate the EDM, Total stations, pipe lasers, as well as working out site coordinates, minimising & eliminating costly errors in setting -out, fixing datums & site surveys, & a hundred other engineering gems as well.

Thank you Andy, it’s very much appreciated by everyone.

WHERE HAS TIME GONE?

Unbelievable that the enterprise that started out in 1983 with one man & a wheelbarrow has evolved into the business we have today.

Although there were a few rocky moments around the 2008 recession, the company has grown because of the great people within the business, with guys like Richard Webster,

Now as we go into 2023 with a new business plan in place, we took to Barrie & his team to implement the next stage of our growth.

Well done to the lads at the Ewhurst site that won the pizza for their top marks with our health & safety scoring, Milan is making this look easy!

What a pair, you couldn’t make it up! Matt Sloots & Milan Pavic got down & dirty recently whist connecting a main sewer at our Banstead site. Well done lads, you couldn’t do enough for a good gov’nor!

Micky Crowe, Joe Dwyer, & Patsy Scullion & Zoe Nugent, all having given 30 years’ service, the business could only ` blossom.

BOARDROOM TABLE

Many thanks go out to our foreman at the Banstead site Milan Pavic, last weekend Milan showed his carpentry skills in building our new boardroom table, the table which was built using 100 year old Scottish oak planks was designed by Milan & will incorporate a Lenmark construction site within the table showing scaled Lenmark plant & equipment in a unique setting, well done milan for pulling that out of the bag!

CHARITY DRIVEWAY

Lenmark are pleased to announce that we have partnered with local children’s charity Kangaroos, Mid Sussex. In line with fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities we have sought out ways to help the local community and Kangaroos provides a direct line to those in need of a helping hand.

Recently, we had the pleasure to help Jay Price and her family who had been left in an unfortunate situation with half finished building works on her house. With her seven year old daughter Lexi to take care, they needed help to rectify the works on their house and we were more than happy to oblige.

LENMARK GAIN HOME OFFICE APPROVAL

Lenmark have recently been approved by the British home office to act as a UK sponsor for bringing in skilled workers to the UK.

It took us over two years to go through the lengthy validation and security process to become an approved sponsor. This now enables Lenmark Construction to reach out to the rest of the world and attract the best people to come to the UK and work on our projects, with many others in the pipeline this source will assist us in dealing with the skilled shortage in the uk at the moment.

We have already conducted many online interviews over the last few weeks with potential employees and have employed a number of skilled workers from abroad.

Lenmark, pleased to announce the latest of our new arrivals to the companyfromouragreementwiththeUkHomeOfficetobringskilled & professional workers to the UK to work.

Ammar, joins us from Lahore, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge & experience & will be a great addition to our surveying team out on site, Barrie Rossiter was at the arrival’s hall at Gatwick last week to meet Ammar.

Our site foreman Chinder welcomes Harinder and Majinder who are the first two new skilled workers from India to join Lenmark through our sponsorship agreement with the Uk Home Office. Both guys have just started work on our Beckenham site for Cala homes.

Lenmark have set up a Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), with Quest health, this can provide around-the-clock mental health support to all our workforce. This is a vital tool that benefit & helps our teams make it through difficult times. Whether it’s personal or professional challenges, our EAP provides a safe space to talk through it all.

NEW TILT-ROTOR & 3D LEICA GEOSYSTEM

We have just invested in our first tilt-rotator attachment that will allow our operators to work the bucket attachments at many different angles, ideal for excavating balancing ponds, batters, and ditching works.

Also included in these new machines is the Leica Geosystem, using a 3-D excavating function that allows the operator to make simple adjustments without leaving the cab, or the need for a site engineer, to set out site

foundations, or cut and fill exercises. Our operator on this 20t Hitachi, Ryan Harper brings a wealth of experience in operating the tilt-rotor & is already making a difference on our Angmering site.

NEW SITES STARTING

At the end of 2022, Lenmark started works on the first phase of 350 new homes for client Cala Homes at Water Lane, Angmering BN16 4EJ.

The first phase package will see us constructing the new roads and sewers, including utilities and foundations for 165 new homes. It is expected to see the final phase of the scheme finish mid-2025.

MD Barrie Rossiter commented “This contract is the result of a lot of hard work by all our team and reflects the values of Lenmark that is now being recognised by our clients, at present we are in negotiations with a number of major housebuilders & I would expect to see Lenmark on a number of these larger site around the middle of the year”

HERON DRIVE MINSTER ON SEA, SHEERNESS

We have successfully secured a contract from The Emerson Group for the infrastructure, groundworks, and services, for 171 new homes starting late 2022, with completion in the summer of 2024. The works will be carried out for Jones Homes at Sheerness in Kent.

NEW PLANT INVESTMENT

After a very busy 2022, Lenmark have recently invested over £1m in new plant, with more planned for early 2023, Some of the new kit has been delivered to our Cala Homes site at Angmering in the past few weeks.

This investment once again reinforces Lenmark dedication to providing our operatives with the most up to date machines and is a major step for the business in developing our Health & safety and environmentally friendly ethos.

As we look forward to 2023 our ambition is to have all our plant and machinery out on site under 3-years old.

HELPING OUR COMMUNITY

FOODBANKS IN SUSSEX & KENT

Once again, all the employees of Lenmark rallied to the call, throughout November & December you generously donated £4500 from our guys on site to help the foodbanks in Crawley Sussex, & Ashford Kent.

In the days before Christmas Barrie & his team went to the food wholesalers & filled up their vehicles with food & groceries which was very much appreciated by the two foodbanks which do a excellent job in distributing the food to the folk who really need it. Well done to all envolved!

NEW LENMARK APP

We have been excitedly developing our own Lenmark app and we’re pleased to say it is currently in the final “testing” phase with some highly responsible individuals, out on site!

The team had a brainstorm recently and all the feedback is excellent so far!

We can’t wait to improve the way we work using technology, making it easier and quicker to complete tasks & completely do away with

papework onsite, while offering something a bit special to our clients.

Are all-in-one platform will have all the tools to communicate with clients, complete offsite inductions, programme site works, send timesheets, complete our QA system & much more .
